The NBA All-Star festivities are still going on, so you have to get your DFS fix elsewhere. It's usually in the NHL, but they're on break too. Where should you turn? How about the college guys? We've got a Big Monday on ESPN and a DFS Tournament over on DraftKings.
It's a lighter night game-wise, but it's not light on talent. Just about every team on the slate has a star, and Utah just knocked off Kansas. What more could you want?
Here are my picks for the CBB DFS slate on Monday, February 17. I will highlight the core pieces, value plays, best matchups, and the guys who could break the slate. Sound good? Let's get to it!

Today's DraftKings CBB DFS Core Pieces
Cooper Flagg, Duke ($11K)
BTW, in case anybody has forgotten, Cooper Flagg reclassified. He’s supposed to be a senior in high school right now
A lot of athletes will stay back a year to get a developmental advantage
The soon-to-be national player of the year did the opposite ?
— Calvy J (@CJRealHoops1) February 13, 2025
Flagg has only been under 40 DraftKings points three times since December 1. All three games were blowouts in which he only played 28 minutes or less. Duke isn't blowing out Virginia, so Flagg should be in for another 40+ DraftKings point game.
VJ Edgecombe, Baylor ($8.4K)
Edgecombe went a terrible 3-for-12 from the floor against West Virginia after hitting all five shots against Baylor. He had a higher DFS total against the Mountaineers. If Edgecombe's shot isn't falling, he is still contributing in other categories. That's what I want to see in a cash player.
Dai Dai Ames, Virginia ($5.6K)
Virginia's incessant rotation of the guards is kind of annoying, but every once in a while, it yields something important. Ames has 88.5 DraftKings points over the last three games. He still plays over 30 minutes per game. As long as he keeps getting shots, this is just the beginning.

Today's DraftKings CBB DFS Slate-Breaking Potential Picks
Coleman Hawkins, Kansas State ($9K)
Coleman Hawkins and KJ Adams— two of the worst players in college basketball, who sometimes play like two of the best players in college basketball
— Derek Hein (@derekhein) February 8, 2025
Hawkins has come crashing back down after big games against Kansas and Iowa State. His ceiling approaches 50. His floor is below 20. That makes it impossible to trust Hawkins, but it is worth noting that K-State is still in contention for an NCAA Tournament berth and this is a great matchup.
Caleb Love, Arizona ($7.9K)
Love has never met a shot that he wouldn't take. Sometimes, that yields horrific shooting (and DFS) performances. Sometimes, he breaks the slate by approaching 60. Don't expect the high end of that spectrum here, but he still feels like a bargain at this price.
Henri Veesaar, Arizona ($6.5K)
Veesaar was held in check by a physical Houston front, but before that, he had four straight games over 20 DraftKings points. The ceiling is in the mid-30s, which is pretty impressive in this price range. Veesaaar's floor is also higher than many in this range lately.
Today's DraftKings CBB DFS Value Picks
Brendan Hausen, Kansas State ($4.8K)
Hausen is probably the best pure shooter on the team. He doesn't always make shots, but Hausen has hit double figures in DraftKings points in every game since January 7. We can work with that.
Langston Love, Baylor ($4.4K)
Love has been on a tear over the last three games. He has 74.75 DraftKings points in that span and is no longer relegated to bench work. His two starts have gone quite well. I would expect Love to remain in the starting lineup. At this price, that's a gift!
Jalen Celestine, Baylor ($3.9K)
Celestine also started the last game for the Bears and wound up with 21 DraftKings points. I don't know how high the ceiling is, but that's a great floor for someone in this range.
Today's DraftKings CBB DFS Best Matchups
For the best matchups section, I will line up which positional groups have the best matchups on paper today. It could make sense to use an otherwise slumping player in a great matchup. This section can help you do that.
Duke Wings vs. Virginia
Kansas State frontcourt vs. Utah
I don't mind the Kansas State guards either due to the success of the unit as a whole.
