BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ Team Leagues

ANALYSIS: While it's difficult to say with certainty whether Kansas City Chiefs running back Carson Steele will take over the RB1 role after the injury to lead RB Isiah Pacheco, all signs seem to be pointing in that direction. Steele was a monster in the preseason, and that's likely earned him at least an opportunity to be RB1.

The Chiefs signed running back Samaje Perine before Week 1, but he's mostly set to inhabit a third-down and obvious passing-down role. They also signed RB Kareem Hunt from free agency, but Hunt hasn't been fantasy-relevant for a long time, and his production and efficiency have fallen off massively.
Hunt looks like a depth piece for now. Of course, if Steele doesn't play well, the backfield pecking order should be shaken up. Steele should take the majority of early-down and goal-line work for the Chiefs, which are both very valuable roles for fantasy.
For Week 3, Steele is a solid FLEX play in 12+ team leagues with upside for more, and Pacheco owners looking to replace him after his broken leg injury should look to Steele as the main Chiefs option.
