ANALYSIS: One of the biggest injuries of Week 2 was when Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco went down in their last-second win over the Bengals.
Pacheco left the stadium on crutches and was later diagnosed with a fractured fibula. He's expected to be placed on IR and could miss an extended period.
Steele finished the game with seven carries for 24 yards, but also lost a fumble. He is the top candidate to replace Pacheco for early down work, while Samaje Perine is the back who should take on more work in the passing game.
Steele impressed the Chiefs in training camp and the preseason with his smashmouth running style. At 230 pounds, he can push the pile and could end up being the short yardage and goal line back for this very potent offense.
The undrafted rookie Carson Steele really ran right over everybody 😳

With Clyde Edwards-Helaire still on the NFI list and out for at least two more weeks, Steele should have an opportunity to at least split snaps and touches with Perine. As of today, Kansas City has not made any indication that they will sign another back or make a trade.
He should be snagged off waivers by managers who had Pacheco and should fetch a pretty solid FAAB price in the process.
