Carson Palmer, Larry Fitzgerald and John Brown In For Big Monday Night

The Arizona Cardinals are looking to bounce back this week against the Baltimore Ravens after losing their last game to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In that contest Carson Palmer completed 29-of-45 for 421 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Baltimore has been making opposing quarterbacks look amazing so far this season and Palmer will most likely add his name to that list.

The Ravens haven’t been great at pressuring the QB, and Carson has been completing more than 70 percent of passes when not pressured. That, and having a full arsenal of weapons at his disposal, Palmer should go off on Monday Night Football. Larry Fitzgerald is having one heck of a year so far, but who didn’t know that? Last week he caught 8 balls for 93 yards with no touchdowns.

Meanwhile, John Brown found ways to get open, ending the day with 10 receptions on 14 targets for 196 yards. Brown has apparently been dealing with hamstring injuries but the numbers don’t indicate that much at all. Cardinals coach Bruce Arians sounded optimistic when asked about Browns status for Monday. Baltimore’s defense is tied for the most touchdown passes on the deep ball this year. It’s a recipe for disaster for the Ravens.

Andre Ellington has been struggling to get back in the thick of things after missing some time with injury, losing the starting role to a resurging Chris Johnson. Last year Ellington did well as the every-down running back, but injury (again) caused him to miss the last four games of the season. Usually a monster in PPR leagues, he’s more of a stash until further notice. I don’t believe Chris Johnson can maintain the starter role all season, and hopefully when then time comes, Ellington will be healthy enough to compete for the gig.

Let’s hype up this Arizona offense some more, shall we? Palmer currently holds an average 106.9 passer rating per game, good for fifth in the league. The Cardinals are also second in the league in scoring at 33.8 points a game. The hype train is real; get your tickets while you can.
