BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 60% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Carlos Beltran is just a year shy of his 40th birthday, but you wouldn't know it by watching him on the field. Beltran is displaying the same kind of power he had in his pre-Yankees days, with 12 HR and 31 RBI already in 49 games. He has remained healthy and now that he is splitting time between RF and DH, it should keep him in the lineup more often. Beltran is batting an uncharacteristically low .273 BABIP, so if anything he could still show improvement over his .264 AVG.
The speed is completely gone, as Beltran has not even attempted to steal a base this season. At this point, you want to own him for his power production alone. As a low-end outfield option who could end up with 25-30 HR, Beltran should be owned universally. The former All-Star is showing he still has plenty left in the tank and if the Yankees offense as a whole can get it together, his production may even increase.
