ANALYSIS: We’ve been monitoring Caris LeVert’s rise since last season, when he first showed signs of his capability. Now an every day starter, following Jeremy Lin’s season-ending injury, LeVert is averaging 11 points, four rebounds and three assists, averaging 27 minutes per game. Brooklyn is off to in interesting start, posting a 3-4 record with a marquee victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers in their back pocket. LeVert played a season-high 30 minutes in that game, posting 10 points, four assists, a rebound and a steal.
While he has struggled the past two games with his shooting percentage, the sophomore is still managing to pick up other valuable numbers, with some assists, rebounds, steals and blocks. LeVert will have plenty of time to shake off his recent shooting woes, as his place in the starting lineup appears set. With the Nets being a young, pace-driven team, he’ll get plenty of chances to score. Combining that with his aforementioned ability to contribute in other facets of the game, LeVert seems to be set up nicely the rest of the way. Look for him to be a terrific contributor off the bench of fantasy squads, with good numbers now and the possibility of better numbers as we move forward.
