At only 23, Joc Pederson is clearly one of the best young talents in baseball. Already having a full season under his belt should serve him well as he attempts to continue the success he enjoyed in the first half of the 2015 season where he clobbered 20 HR despite batting only .230. In the second half he managed only six, to go along with a measly .178 BA.
Pederson needs to make adjustments to big league pitching in the same way that pitchers clearly made adjustments to him at the plate. But categorizing him as the high-risk/high-reward type seems appropriate. While he is clearly capable of over 35 HR, he also may disappear on your team like he did on the Dodgers in the second half last season. Joc Pederson has the potential fantasy owners dreams of, and if he can stay consistent he will likely put up better numbers than a lot of players drafted earlier.
