ANALYSIS: Baltimore Orioles starting pitching prospect Cade Povich has been silencing Triple-A bats this season and is quickly approaching his major league debut.
So far this season, Povich has delivered outstanding statistics, pitching 41 ⅔ innings at Triple-A Norfolk with a commendable 2.16 ERA and 1.10 WHIP, along with an impressive 57:17 K:BB ratio. In April, he maintained a stellar 1.03 ERA, 0.76 WHIP, and 40:10 K:BB ratio.

In a similar 45 ⅓ innings at Tripe-A last season, Povich struggled and looked like a completely different pitcher with a 5.36 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 53:29 K:BB ratio.
It is very promising to see the 24-year-old take a significant step forward this season and is putting any previous doubts to rest. The southpaw has clearly been able to figure things out at Triple-A and is worth stashing in deeper formats.
Currently, the Orioles have a five-man rotation with Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) and Tyler Wells (elbow) on the injured list, which could make it tough for Povich to earn a spot once these established starters return.
Povich will have to wait for a position in the rotation to open up, but his recent success at Triple-A could push Baltimore’s hand. For now, he is worth stashing in 15-team formats.
