ANALYSIS: Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud had massive expectations this year after an impressive rookie season. The Texans added multiple weapons in the offseason, trading for Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon. Unfortunately, Stroud hasn’t lived up to the expectations.
The former Ohio State star is the QB14 for the year, averaging 14.8 fantasy points per game. Stroud has only 371 passing yards, one touchdown, and 17.7 fantasy points over the past two weeks.
Unfortunately, he has been without Nico Collins (hamstring) for the past few games. More importantly, Houston lost Stefon Diggs to a season-ending torn ACL in Week 8, further limiting the star quarterback’s wide receiver core.

Stroud faces the New York Jets on Thursday night without his top two wide receivers. The Jets have held quarterbacks to 13.6 fantasy points per game this year, the sixth-fewest in the NFL. Fantasy players should avoid starting Stroud in single-quarterback leagues.
