BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 31% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Despite having his breakout 30-home run season in 2018, Minnesota Twins first baseman C.J. Cron is still widely available on waivers across many fantasy leagues. And not only has Cron kept up his high home run pace from last year, he's exceeding 2018's power metrics across the board.
Cron's 14.3% barrel rate and .526 xSLG both rank amongst the top 10% of the league and are significant increases from his 2018 clips (12.2% barrel rate, .486 xSLG). He's also increased his exit velocity from 88.0 to 90.7 and lowered his strikeout rate from 25.9% to 20.3%.
For any team in need of a power bat, Cron is an excellent, reliable option off the waiver wire. He hits either in the heart or the lower third of one of the most productive offenses in the league and starts just about every day. He should be owned in all AL-only leagues and all leagues of 12 teams or larger. He's also worth consideration in more shallow mixed leagues if you have a lineup spot to fill.
