EXPERT ANALYSIS: Somebody sure likes July... It's about time we saw this from C.J. Cron. His historic 6-for-6 night against the Red Sox on July 2nd included two HR and five RBI. More impressively, it followed a two-hit performance the night before in which he smacked a grand slam. With another two-homer night on the 5th, Cron is the hottest hitter in the league this past week with five HR and 13 RBI since July began. Cron was expected to see an uptick in his power numbers, which had trended positively the past two years. A full-time gig at first base hitting behind Mike Trout and Albert Pujols figured to be a recipe for fantasy success, but Cron simply couldn't get it going early on. He only mustered a .203 AVG in April and finished June with just five total HR. Now, he is quickly making up for those disappointing numbers and is a worthy streaming choice in any format. If he can sustain some degree of success in line with pre-season expectations, the former first-round pick could make a good CI option in deep leagues the rest of the way out.
