After a slow start to the season for both the Bears' offense and the team overall, they exploded in Week Five with a 40-20 outburst against the Commanders, marking their first victory in nearly a full calendar year.
Thanks to massive performances from Justin Fields and D.J. Moore, the Bears' offense demonstrated what they are capable of against a formidable Commanders' front.
The new wide receiver from the Carolina Panthers seems to be a great fit for this offense, and he looks to contribute to the development of Fields moving forward. Perhaps most importantly, the offensive line performed exceptionally well in the Thursday Night Football win, allowing Fields to read the defense and take deep shots, which bodes well for their future success.

This is the Fields We Have Been Waiting For
Fields had a slow start to the year but resembled his 2022 self when they jumped out to a 28-7 lead against the Broncos. Despite his initial struggles, Fields currently ranks seventh in the NFL in passing yards per attempt and fourth among quarterbacks in rushing yards. He has proven to be dynamic in both aspects, and the Bears' creativity on Thursday demonstrated their commitment to him in the running game.
He had his best game of the season on Thursday Night Football against the Commanders, completing 15-of-29 passes for 282 yards and four touchdowns. The Ohio State product also displayed his true dual-threat ability by carrying the ball 11 times for 57 yards.
The former 11th overall pick in the 2021 draft excels at throwing the deep ball, as evidenced by his performance on Thursday. He currently ranks third in the NFL in deep throw percentage (throws of 20+ yards) at 17.1%, while also holding the fourth position in adjusted completion percentage on deep throws (53.8%). In simpler terms, he's throwing deep passes more frequently and completing them at a high rate, making him a great option to have big games.
DJ Spin That One More Time
Acquiring a playmaker like D.J. Moore can significantly aid a young quarterback's development, as he has consistently provided a reliable target for Fields. Moore has run the 16th most routes in the first five games of the season (179), and he currently ranks sixth in yards per route run among receivers with at least 12 targets this year (2.97).
Moore's ability to create separation downfield and make plays after the catch has been outstanding this year, with an average depth of target of over 15 yards. Not only has he excelled at getting open downfield, which complements Fields' deep ball throwing, but he has also demonstrated his effectiveness with the ball in his hands.
Following his impressive eight-catch, 230-yard performance with three touchdowns, Moore has ascended to the WR4 position in most fantasy formats, thanks to his increasing target share and efficiency. Over the course of five games, this star receiver has run 41 more routes than the next closest player on his team and only faces competition for targets from tight end Cole Kmet, as Darnell Mooney and Fields have failed to get on the same page.
Overall, it's a good move to acquire this dynamic duo in fantasy or hold onto them if you've already invested. Their upcoming matchups against the Vikings, Raiders, and Chargers all feature bottom-half pass defenses, creating an opportunity for significant fantasy production. The game scripts are likely to favor the Bears throughout the year, and upcoming matchups are favorable. Try to acquire this duo now before their value becomes unattainable.
