BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 34% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Norris saw two save opportunities last weekend in the series against Cincinnati Reds, converting both of them. While the closer job was widely expected to go to Greg Holland after he led the the NL in saves last season with 41, Holland has had some trouble shaking off the rust after he signed with the Cardinals on the third day of the regular season. While his ERA is only 3.86 in two 1/3 innings, his WHIP stands at a staggering 2.57, so the Cardinals may want to ease him into the role.
Norris, on the other hand, has had a nice start to the season after closing out 19 games last year for the Angels. Through 7 2/3 innings, he's produced a very solid 2.35 ERA and 1.17 WHIP along with 14 strikeouts and three saves. Manager Mike Matheny has indicated that the closer plans may have changed given Norris' success, so he is likely worth an add in deeper leagues and some mixed-leagues.
