BALLER MOVE: Add in two-catcher leagues, deep AL-only leagues
OWNED IN: 1% of Fleaflicker leagues
ANALYSIS: With Robinson Chirinos sidelined for 10-12 weeks, Holaday takes over everyday catching duties in Texas. The Rangers acquired Holaday from Detroit in the off-season to bolster their catching depth and now Holaday has a chance to show he deserves the starting job. The Rangers have been rumored to be interested in Derek Norris and Jonathan Lucroy, but until a move is made you can rely on Holaday to get consistent playing time.
Holaday's offensive upside is limited to be sure - he only has three HR and 31 RBI in 291 plate appearances for his career. He did manage to hit .281 in limited time last season. Playing in Texas surrounded by a potent lineup may allow him to score some runs if he can maintain a decent average, but Holaday remains at best a stopgap in the deepest of leagues requiring two catchers or for AL-only owners who just lost Chirinos.
