ANALYSIS: With primary closer Jhoan Duran out with an injury for at least the first month of the season, the Twins will need to look elsewhere for someone to finish off games. Griffin Jax was fantastic in the spring and has recorded the lone save chance for the Twins thus far. But Brock Stewart has been good too, with three appearances and a 0.00 ERA in 2024. The 32-year-old has allowed two hits, hasn't walked a batter, and has struck out five in three innings pitched.

Stewart has a 93rd percentile four-seam fastball velocity of 97.2 that he pairs with a sweeper, cutter, sinker or changeup. While Stewart has just two saves to his credit in his entire career, the righty was lights-out for the Twins in 2023. Over 27 2/3 IP, he allowed just two earned runs, posting a 0.65 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP to go along with his 25.7% K-BB%. If Twins manager Rocco Baldelli wants to go with a committee approach, or if Jax falters, Stewart could be in line for some save chances until Duran returns.
Stewart is available in over 90% of Yahoo leagues, so fantasy managers in deeper leagues looking for saves (or holds) could pick up Stewart and hope he gets a crack at locking down some games for Minnesota.
