BALLER MOVE: Start
POSITIONAL VALUE: Low-End QB1
ANALYSIS: These days, there are two rules to apply when choosing a starting quarterback. The first is -- is he hyper-mobile? Think Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, Lamar Jackson. The second is -- is he in an offense from the Shanahan tree? The top quarterbacks this year mostly fit into one of those molds.

Evaluating quarterbacks has never been easier in fantasy. Well, sort of. Purdy is a great player, but it helps that he has Kyle Shanahan calling the plays and designing the offense. He also has great weapons. He doesn't have massive rushing upside, but he doesn't really need it.

You want to start good quarterbacks on good offenses with good weapons. That's what Purdy is. Deebo Samuel Sr., George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk all help him make big plays consistently, move the chains, get into scoring range, and push the ball into the end zone.
The lack of rushing upside makes him a lower-end QB1, but he's still worth starting, especially in 12-team leagues. The matchup doesn't really matter. He hasn't been great against tough competition this year in terms of fantasy scoring, and while the Kansas City Chiefs present a tough defense in Week 7, he can still succeed in this offense.

The wide receiver position has an advantage over the running back position in PPR scoring formats, typically. Not every WR is like this, though, […]
