Early Friday evening, the NASCAR Cup Series held the qualifying session for Saturday night's Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. This qualifying session consisted of two rounds and the drivers were split into two groups. The top five fastest drivers from each group advanced to the second round.
The five fastest drivers that advanced out of the first group were: Christopher Bell, Ty Gibbs, Corey Lajoie, Bubba Wallace, and Chase Elliott.
The five fastest drivers that ended up advancing out of the second group were: Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, William Byron, Michael McDowell, and Martin Truex Jr.
