Important Practice Notes
Kevin Harvick - "Happy" Harvick was not happy with his No. 4 Ford during practice. He was just 19th-fastest on the speed chart and ranked 27th-best when it came to ten-lap average. It was reported that crew chief, Rodney Childers, was going to take a long look at the tires from practice and determine what they need to do. Harvick can't afford to be slow on Saturday night, as he's currently just seven points above the cut line in the Playoffs.
Chris Buescher - Defending Bristol winner, Chris Buescher, was fast on the speed chart during practice--he had the second-fastest single lap and ranked second-best in ten-lap average as well--but the driver wasn't too happy with his car off the corner and said that not being able to get back to full throttle quickly was hurting them on the straightaways. If the No. 17 team can figure that issue out, Buescher should have another rocket ship on Saturday night.
The Long Run - Bristol is a 0.533-mile race track so that means the long run is going to be important on Saturday night. Ten-lap averages are nice to look at but the real numbers you should be looking at are 15-, 20-, 25-, and 30-lap averages. Click here to go to NASCAR's Practice Leaderboard to see those.
