BALLER MOVE: Continue Scouting
ANALYSIS: Not only is Brian Roberts an injury liability- he has yet to play more than 77 games in a season since 2009- but he has been mediocre at best this season with 2 HR, 11 RBI, 20 R, a .241 AVG and .311 OBP. Including his 2-for-5 "breakout" performance in last night's win against the Cardinals, B-Rob owns a .190 AVG, 1 HR and 2 RBI over the last week. It's possible that his last 7 days will continue over the rest of the season as his plate discipline is among the worst of his career. His swing rate at all pitches is the highest it's ever been, but he has chased the most balls outside the strike zone in his career so far this season. Unfortunately this hasn't resulted in success as he has his lowest contact percentage he's ever had so you can expect him to strike out a lot more for the rest of the season. Even in deeper leagues and/or AL only leagues, there's better options at second base for your team.
