BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 21% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Atlanta Falcons running back Brian Hill has been an extremely effective No. 2 back for the team over the first five weeks of the season. In Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers, Hill carried the ball six times for 39 yards and caught both of his targets for 15 yards.
While Todd Gurley II has dominated the carries for the Falcons this year, Hill has been significantly more effective than Gurley on a per-touch basis. Gurley is averaging 4.7 yards per carry and 4.8 yards per reception, while Hill is averaging 5.3 yards per carry and 7.7 yards per reception.
Gurley is coming off his best game of the year. He rushed for 121 yards in Week 5 and he has five rushing touchdowns on the year. Hill's best case scenario in the short-term would be to slowly earn a greater share of the work out of the backfield, but what makes Hill most alluring is his potential long-term impact. The Falcons' No. 3 back Ito Smith has struggled significantly this year, averaging just three yards per carry on only 11 carries. Gurley has a lot of wear and tear on him and is coming off the worst season of his NFL career. It's very likely that he'll start to lose steam in the latter half of the season, when Hill will have an opportunity to seize a much more sturdy workload.
Add Hill in all leagues of 14 teams or deeper and keep him stashed away as a long-term flyer.
