Usually the younger an athlete is, the quicker they heal and recover from injury. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case with 22-year-old Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman. The 2015 first round draft pick has yet to see the football field this season due to a sprained PCL injury that doctors expected would be fully healed by now.
"It's just a slow-healing deal," coach John Harbaugh said. "He's had probably one of the all-time slowest healing sprained PCLs ever. That's nothing against him. It's just the way it is."
Perriman isn't worth owning in redraft leagues and can be dropped if you're still holding onto him. Rookie receivers rarely contribute much anyways and given the fact that there's no timetable for his return, he's just a waste of a roster spot right now. I would recommend dropping him for Chris Givens, who the Ravens just acquired from the St. Louis Rams. Givens may not contribute this year either, but he's a high-risk, high-reward player. He's worth holding onto for a couple weeks to see if he can become one of Flacco's favorite targets. After all, Flacco has to eventually find somebody other than Steve Smith Sr. in the passing game.
