BALLER MOVE: Add in AL-Only Leagues
OWNED IN: 2% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Brandon Guyer has widely been considered a decent 4th OF option in both the Cubs and Rays systems since 2007. He even was being strictly platooned for his disparities vs RHP and LHP. But then Desmond Jennings decided to hit WAY below the Mendoza Line and it opened the door for Guyer to prove that he was ready to break out.
Guyer's .201 ISO shows that not only can he drive the ball, but he can also sustain this power for the long haul. His .299 BA, .398 OBP, .328 BABIP and .904 OPS can all improve with more reps and a better plate discipline to avoid the vicious splits he has displayed in the past. However, this season he has made serious strides vs RHP and evened out his stat line towards a more even split. His power is going to come mostly against LHP but with more at-bats and more trust from management, Guyer looks to play his way into the Rays outfield future.
For now he is an AL-Only play and a deep league asset with his eligibility at all three OF positions. Owners should not sleep on Guyer being productive for the rest of the 2016 campaign, though. He can probably chip in 10 HR, 10 SB and be a Kevin Kiermaier-type for your fantasy team. He isn't going to win your fantasy league single-handedly, but he can't hurt you either and those are the players that fill in the gaps for championship fantasy owners.
