Analysis: Brandon Drury is one of the top unexpected explosions so far in 2016. With a slash line of .306/.335/.531 and seven HR, it shouldn't however be surprising that his ownership percentage has skyrocketed so quickly. Drury has actually been striking out more and walking less this season, but the difference in BABIP between this season and last has helped him to sustain success. Last season in the majors, Drury had a BABIP of just .217, while he owns a much better figure of .330 this season.
Forget about the balls in play for Drury, focus on the balls hit out of play, the bleachers more specifically. With an isolated power figure of .224, he is cashing in at hitter-friendly Chase Field with a phenomenal home slash line of .351/.368/.595. Drury is also impressively knocking around both RHP and LHP with SLG figures of .892 and .802, so there is no situation in his first 147 2016 AB in which Drury has been overwhelmed.
