BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED: 27% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The San Francisco 49ers found a lot of ways to get rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk involved in their Week 3 win over the New York Giants. Aiyuk caught five of his team-high eight targets for 70 yards and also rushed the ball three times for 31 yards and a touchdown.
Aiyuk was eased into his NFL debut in Week 2. He only earned three targets in the game and caught two of them for 21 yards. Kendrick Bourne had been the team's leading wide receiver going into Week 3. Bourne caught four of his six targets for 63 yards this week, but he doesn't have nearly as much potential or room for growth as Aiyuk.
The 49ers had backup quarterback Nick Mullens under center for the game with Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) sidelined. The team was also without star tight end George Kittle (knee) and presumed No. 1 receiver Deebo Samuel (foot). Kittle could return as soon as Week 4 while it sounds as if Samuel could be back in Week 5. Where Aiyuk stands when the team is fully healthy is yet to be seen, but for now, he should be added in all PPR leagues of 12 or more teams. The 49ers will certainly find a way to keep their 2020 first-round pick involved to some degree throughout the year and he could deliver solid short-term value while Kittle and Samuel work their way back to form.
