BALLER MOVE: Start In All Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR1
ANALYSIS: Someone on the 49ers is going to put up massive numbers against the lowly Arizona Cardinals, but which star will it be?
The Cardinals aren't strong against quarterbacks or wide receivers. They're the second-worst defense against fantasy football running backs. The only position they're good against is tight ends, but even then, they're just above average. The Niners are third in the league in scoring with 29.2 points per game. The Cardinals allow 25.5 themselves.
Christian McCaffrey may be the lock of the century. The Cardinals surrender the third-most rushing yards per game. Last time out against Arizona, he racked up 177 total yards and four touchdowns. Deebo Samuel was largely a decoy with an injury in the first game but has been the WR1 over the last three weeks. He's also a lineup lock.
That brings us to Brandon Aiyuk. He posted 148 yards on six catches in the first game versus Arizona. Again, Samuel was a complete non-factor. But Aiyuk's also hit the 100-yard mark or scored a touchdown in every game since Week 8. There's no sitting him either.
If I had to rank the stars on San Francisco this week, it would go McCaffrey, Samuel, Aiyuk, and then George Kittle. With the number of points that the 49ers are projected to put up, all four need to be in starting lineups. Fantasy managers will hope they get at least one of the scores before the game gets out of hand.
