BALLER MOVE: Start in all leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR1
ANALYSIS: Lost in Deebo Samuel's insane seven-touch, one-air yard, three-touchdown dominance against Philadelphia was Brandon Aiyuk finding himself in the end zone for the fourth straight game.
Samuel and Christian McCaffrey may be the more exciting players with the ball in their hands, but Aiyuk isn't far behind and is the purest receiver on the Niners. The former first-round pick led the team in targets (seven) in the team's blowout of the Eagles.
This week, Aiyuk and the rest of the 49ers host a rematch with the Seattle Seahawks. We saw this game two weeks ago on Thanksgiving night when Aiyuk secured two of his four targets for 50 yards and a touchdown. The reception and target numbers weren't quite up to par, but the Niners also jumped out to a quick lead and demolished their division foe.
Oddly enough, that was his second-best game against the team from the Pacific Northwest in his career. He had eight catches for 91 yards and a touchdown in his rookie season. Coach Kyle Shanahan knows that the Seahawks have never been able to slow down Samuel. He averages 98 receiving yards per game against them and has only dropped below 100 yards once.
Samuel will, once again, be the preferred option on offense on Sunday. Still, it's impossible to shy away from the potential of Aiyuk. The 49ers have an implied point total of 28, meaning touchdown opportunities will be plentiful. Number 11 should be locked into fantasy lineups with the hope that he pushes his touchdown streak to five games.
