After an exhilarating Week 2 of college football, the Week 3 slate does not look very promising on paper. That does not mean we won’t see some exciting games -- who thought Northern Illinois-Notre Dame would be as fun as it was?
Not me, that’s for sure. None of my Week 2 bold predictions came to fruition, but hey, that’s why they’re bold.
Week 3’s Friday slate almost looks better than the Saturday slate with a key non-conference matchup between two teams in the same conference. Yes, you read that right. 20th-ranked Arizona against 14th-ranked Kansas State will not count as a Big 12 game since it was scheduled before the Wildcats left the Pac-12 for the Big 12. Let’s dive into bold picks for this week’s slate.

Kansas Drops Back-To-Back Games
The Jayhawks fell to Illinois as road favorites last Saturday night in a tough environment, as quarterback Jalon Daniels struggled with three interceptions. Kansas is back home this week, but the competition is just as tough.

UNLV already took down one Big 12 opponent in Week 1, handily beating Houston 27-7. The Rebels were one of the preseason favorites in the Mountain West after making the conference championship game a year ago, and they certainly look the part again this year through two games. Give me the impressive UNLV team on the road on Friday night to pull off an upset.
Florida State Losing Streak Extended
When will the madness end? Florida State was off last week after suffering back-to-back upset losses to Georgia Tech and Boston College. This week, the Seminoles are home against a pesky Memphis Tigers team.

Senior quarterback Seth Henigan has been impressive through two games, and his veteran leadership will be needed as the Tigers travel into a harsh environment. This game is a must-win for Florida State, but I am taking the wheels to completely fall off. Tigers over Seminoles in Tallahassee.
Colorado Blows Out Colorado State
Last week, I picked Colorado to beat Nebraska in a stunner. That one didn’t work out, but I am not turning away from everyone’s least favorite team.
The Colorado-Colorado State game was appointment television last season, but this year I’m taking the Buffaloes to trounce their rival. Travis Hunter was injured in this game last season, and if he remains healthy, he could single-handedly take this game over.
This Rams team was blown out by Texas 52-0 in Week 1. Obviously, Texas is a much better team than Colorado, but the Buffaloes win with finesse and will do so on Saturday night.
