Tony Pollard...
Explodes into a top-three finish in Week 8
Many fantasy managers will get their wish in Week 8, with Tony Pollard taking the lead back role for the Dallas Cowboys backfield. Ezekiel Elliot is unlikely to play, which propels Pollard into an excellent matchup against the Chicago Bears in Week 8.
The Bears' defense allows the sixth-most points per game to running backs and have yielded seven scores to running backs through seven weeks. Add in the fact that they just traded away their best defensive player Robert Quinn to the Philadelphia Eagles this week, and you got a fantasy star is born in Tony Pollard.
Pollard will satisfy his case to be the Cowboys lead back from this point forward after finishing as top-three RB finish in Week 8.
Brandin Cooks...
Increases his trade value with a WR1 finish
Rampant rumors of Brandin Cooks being moved by the NFL Trade Deadline. Cooks increased his value with a WR1 finish in Week 8 against the Tennessee Titans, who surrendered the third-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season.
Houston Texans wideout Nico Collins is unlikely to go this week due to a groin injury, which should allow Texans quarterback Davis Mills to only have eyes for Cooks. Admittedly, Cooks is having a disappointing season, having not surpassed 83 receiving yards this season and has only scored one touchdown.
However, look for Texans to highlight Cooks this week in a favorable matchup for receivers. Cooks will garner double-digit targets on his way to his best fantasy production this season and a WR1 finish in his final game in a Texans uniform.
Taysom Hill...
Does it again with a multiple-score effort
Even though Jameis Winston is ready to return, the New Orleans Saints will continue to roll with Andy Dalton behind center for the fifth consecutive start. The Saints welcome the Las Vegas Raiders to the Caesars Superdome in Week 8 in what is projected to be a high-scoring matchup with 49.5 projected points.
Of course, fantasy managers will be excited to see Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave in this juicy matchup, but don't forget about the multi-dimensional Taysom Hill. Fantasy managers know the drill with Hill, who is listed as a tight end and is currently a top-ten fantasy TE through seven weeks. However, his fantasy value is not dependent upon his receiving, especially considering he has only earned two targets and caught both, including one for a touchdown.
Hill is a fantasy cheat code considering his TE designation. His elite rushing ability will play well in a matchup against the eighth-worst in running back fantasy points allowed. Combine that with the Raiders allowing 16.3 fantasy points to TE (fourth-worst) which should lead to hitting the fantasy jackpot with Hill in your Week 8 lineup.
I'm forecasting a similar fantasy outburst to his Week 5 explosion when he scored a whopping 34.1 fantasy points against the Seattle Seahawks. A multi-touchdown performance should lead to plenty of fantasy victories in Week 8.
Gabriel Davis...
Extends his touchdown streak with a long score and 100+ receiving yards vs. the Packers
Gabriel Davis displays plenty of upside in any matchup, especially with Josh Allen feeding him the ball on deep throws. The Packers' defense has been solid against the pass this season. However, with Jaire Alexander running with Stefon Diggs across the field, Davis should see plenty of deep love on Sunday Night.
Davis has scored in three of five games this season and is averaging 76.6 receiving yards per contest. Davis leads the league in yards per target (14.7) and yards per reception (27.4), so fantasy managers should feel confident that Davis will score for the third consecutive week with more high-impact plays against the Packers.
Daniel Jones...
Continues his elevation in the QB ranks with a top-seven finish in Week 8
Daniel Jones is coming off a top-three QB finish last week and takes on a Seattle Seahawks defense that allows an average of 18.37 fantasy points to quarterbacks. As part of his massive performance last week, Jones ran for over 100 yards and will get a plus matchup against a Seahawks defense that allowed 100 rushing yards to Kyler Murray in Week 6 and two QB rushing scores this season.
The former Duke Blue Devil should continue his effective play under Brian Daboll, currently ranking as fantasy's QB9 on the season. Look for Jones to move up the QB ranks with a top-seven finish in this Week 8 favorable matchup.
