Deshaun Watson...
Disappoints in his Browns debut and finishes out of the top 12 QB
Despite what you think of his off-field issues, Deshaun Watson has the potential to be a game-changer for fantasy managers. Watson was a top-five quarterback while with the Houston Texans. However, the fantasy impact will not be fully realized in his NFL return when he takes over at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns.
Watson hasn't played in live NFL action in almost two seasons, and his preseason work with the Browns was less than impressive. His adjustment to the game's speed and the entire soap opera surrounding his return will yield Watson, a quarterback who will finish outside the QB1 range.
Christian McCaffrey...
Shakes off the knee injury and finishes as the RB1
All indications are that Christian McCaffrey will be on the field this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, with CMC practicing on Thursday. Every fantasy manager knows the games that Kyle Shanahan loves to play with his running backs. Shanahan prefers to rotate running backs in every game. We will see the likes of Jordan Mason, rookie Tyrion Davis-Pierce, and the ghost of Tevin Coleman might even log a few carries. However, the vibe is that they are being careful with McCaffrey on his reps, but this week against his former assistant coach Mike McDaniel we see McCaffrey at his finest.
The Niners will continue to feed him the rock on the ground or via the air to keep churning the clock to keep the explosive Dolphins off the field. The issue with that is that the Dolphins won't be able to stop McCaffrey, and he produces a vintage McCaffrey game. The former Stanford Cardinal finishes with 100 yards rushing and receiving on his way to two scores to spearhead his RB1 overall ranking in Week 13.
Raheem Mostert...
Fuels the revenge game narrative with two rushing touchdowns
There has been a lot of trash talk between Raheem Mostert and his former San Francisco 49ers teammates, and there is a revenge game narrative that should not be ignored. Head Coach Mike McDaniel and his running back duo Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr., know the Niners' defense too well. Yes, the Niners' run defense is outstanding, leading the league with the lowest rushing yards allowed with 79.5 rush yards per game.
With Mostert set to return from his knee injury, the table is set for Mostert to share the load with Wilson while they emphasize the running game. Mostert returns to show the Niners' defense isn't so tough by rushing for two short rushing touchdowns, and the trio gets their revenge with a sweet victory.
Keenan Allen...
Dominates the Raiders' secondary with 100-plus yards and two scores
Keenan Allen is finally looking healthy and has put together two consecutive solid efforts with ten receptions for 143 yards and one touchdown across two games. In Week 13, Allen and the Chargers offense take on the Las Vegas Raiders, who Allen has prospered against with more receptions (97) and receiving yards (1,058) than any team in his career.
This matchup is expected to be a shootout, with neither defense being exceptional. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is having a fantastic season, currently ranked fifth in both passing yards and passing touchdowns. In addition, the Chargers love to give the ball down the field, with the second-highest passing ratio (65%) in the league. Combine the ascension of Keenan Allen with the highly efficient passing attack, and fantasy managers will enjoy Keenan Allen's dominance with 100-plus yards and two touchdowns.
