PROSPECT: Blade Tidwell, SP, New York Mets
ERIC CROSS' LATEST PROSPECT RANKING: NA
CALL-UP ETA: Late 2024/Early 2025
ANALYSIS: New York Mets' No. 10 prospect Blake Tidwell was the team's second-round pick in the 2022 MLB Draft. Since making his minor league debut shortly after getting drafted in 2022, Tidwell continues to pitch well in the Mets' minor league system.

In five starts in 2022 at rookie ball and Single-A, Tidwell had a 1.93 ERA with 11 strikeouts. Then, last year at High-A and Double-A, the right-hander finished with a 3.57 ERA and 153 strikeouts in just 116 innings pitched. The 22-year-old has now carried those two strong seasons into 2024, where he has a 2.41 ERA in seven appearances (five starts) with 44 strikeouts.
There are still plenty of things Tidwell has to work on in the minors if he eventually wants to make it to the pros. For starters, he needs to work on limiting walks, especially after issuing 63 free passes a season ago. The right-hander has been better at that in 2024, walking just 11 batters across 37 1/3 innings pitched. He might still be a year away from making his MLB debut, but he could be a nice dynasty stash in deeper formats.
