It has been a wild offseason so far in the NFL. Plenty of players have switched teams in free agency, and some stars were even traded. Deebo Samuel Sr. was dealt to the Washington Commanders, Geno Smith was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders, and DK Metcalf has a new home with the Pittsburgh Steelers. These three moves are surely going to affect their fantasy value for 2025. 

In this article, though, we will dive into the best fantasy football moves in free agency. Several players saw their fantasy value rise after signing with a new team. These players could be better fantasy options on their new teams than they were a season ago.

QB Justin Fields, New York Jets 

Quarterback Justin Fields will get the chance to start again after the New York Jets signed him to a two-year, $40 million deal. This landing spot certainly helps Fields' fantasy value because he will be the team's full-time starter. As a result, the 26-year-old should be selected as a top-12 quarterback in next year's fantasy drafts.

The last time Fields started at least 15 games in a season was back in 2022 with the Chicago Bears. During that year, he finished as the QB7 in fantasy and ran for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns. Even in his six starts with the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, the former first-round pick averaged 19.1 fantasy points per game. 

Given Fields' rushing potential, he should be a reliable QB1 option for fantasy managers during the 2025-26 campaign. Having Garrett Wilson as a WR1 option should also help the quarterback's numbers throughout the year. So, this is a great landing spot for him, and he should average upward of 20 fantasy points next season. 

RB Najee Harris, Los Angeles Chargers 

Najee Harris has been one of the more consistent running backs in the league in recent years. He is the only running back in the NFL to rush for at least 1,000 yards in each of the past four seasons. Notable running backs like Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, and Christian McCaffrey haven't even accomplished this in their careers. 

Harris now goes to a Chargers offense that wants to run the ball at a high level. Los Angeles ranked 10th in run percentage in 2024 (44.9 percent), and the former Steelers running back will be the clear RB1 in this offense. With J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards still free agents, it's hard not to love the 27-year-old in fantasy this upcoming season. 

He has finished as a fantasy RB2 in all four of his NFL seasons, and the Chargers offensive line got stronger this offseason with the signing of Mekhi Becton. Even though Los Angeles will likely add a running back through the 2025 NFL Draft, this will be Harris' backfield in 2025. He is in a better overall situation for next year. 

WR Davante Adams, Los Angeles Rams 

Many people believed that wide receiver Davante Adams would follow wherever Aaron Rodgers went. However, Adams made his own decision earlier in the offseason and signed a multiyear deal with the Los Angeles Rams. The veteran will now work alongside Puka Nacua to form an electric wide receiver duo in Los Angeles.

This landing spot is also a solid one for Adams. He has a top quarterback in Matthew Stafford under center, and this offense can support two top wide receivers in fantasy. Stafford averaged just over 21 completions per game in 2024. Therefore, the veteran will likely enter the season as a high-end WR2 option for managers. 

Adams has totaled over 1,050 receiving yards and finished as a top-14 fantasy wide receiver in five straight seasons. Last year, he finished as the WR14 in half-PPR formats while averaging 17.2 PPR fantasy points per game. Fantasy managers should expect a similar finish for him with the Rams in 2025. 

WR Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 

Wide receiver Chris Godwin might not have switched teams this offseason, but re-signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is fantastic for his fantasy value in 2025 and beyond. Godwin was the WR2 in PPR formats before he suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 7. In those first seven games, the 29-year-old averaged 19.7 PPR fantasy points per game. 

With Godwin re-signing with the Buccaneers, he will operate in the slot once again. He was Baker Mayfield's go-to target in those first seven weeks, and the eight-year veteran should continue to be a strong wide receiver option for fantasy managers in 2025. 

It'll be interesting to see how Godwin looks next year following his season-ending ankle injury. However, Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said the wideout is "hitting all of his milestones" in his recovery. So, the Tampa Bay playmaker remains on track to be ready for Week 1 and will be a WR2 option in fantasy. 

WR Mike Williams, Los Angeles Chargers 

Wide receiver Mike Williams did not have the best season in 2024. He signed with the Jets in free agency before being dealt to the Steelers at the trade deadline. Williams combined for just 21 catches for 298 yards and one touchdown across 18 games with both teams. Nonetheless, the move back to Los Angeles makes this a sneaky solid fantasy landing spot for the veteran. 

Williams is already familiar with Justin Herbert, as the two played together from 2020 to 2023. The wideout also had the best season of his career with Herbert under center back in 2021. During that campaign, the Clemson product caught 76 passes for 1,146 yards and finished as the WR10 in half-PPR formats. 

While we shouldn't expect Williams to put up those numbers in 2025, he could wind up being a flex play in 12-plus-team leagues. He should start on the outside for the Chargers and already has a strong connection with Herbert. This landing spot helps the wideout's fantasy value next season. 

TE Evan Engram, Denver Broncos 

It was shocking when the Jacksonville Jaguars released Evan Engram earlier this offseason, but it didn't take long for him to find a new home. Engram signed a two-year, $23 million deal with the Denver Broncos in free agency. This was a match made in heaven for both sides. The Broncos needed another weapon for Bo Nix in the passing game, and Engram fits perfectly in this Denver offense. 

Nix ranked 30th in yards per pass attempt (6.7 yards) and 27th in air yards per pass attempt (7.2 yards) in his rookie season. Given that Engram catches most of his passes near the line of scrimmage, he should see plenty of opportunities with the Broncos. He ranked 25th in air yards (360 yards) and 28th in target depth (aDOT) among all tight ends last season.

As a result, Engram will be a TE1 option for fantasy managers during the 2025-26 season. He'll likely be the second option in this Denver offense and should have a high fantasy floor in PPR formats. This is a nice landing spot for the 30-year-old playmaker.
