BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 29% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Benny Snell Jr. had a team-high seven carries in Week 16 against the Jets and could lead the way for the backfield again in Week 17 with James Conner (hip)out. Conner has officially been ruled out for the team's Week 17 matchup against the Ravens.
Snell struggled overall in Week 16, gaining just 14 yards on seven carries. However, over the season, he's been the team's most consistently productive rusher behind Conner, averaging 3.7 yards per carry. Jaylen Samuels has seen a lot of opportunities, but he's averaging just 2.7 yards per carry on the year and has been much more effective in the passing game.
Another rookie for the Steelers, Kerrith Whyte, has been surprisingly effective, averaging 5.8 yards per carry on the year. However, he has just 21 rushes on the year and hasn't topped six attempts in a game, while Snell has seen over 15 carries on three occasions this year.
Add Snell in leagues of 12 teams or deeper. Since Conner is sitting, he's a decent flex or RB3 option. The Ravens are a tough matchup, but the Steelers are a run-heavy offense and Snell could see close to 20 touches now that Conner is out and that should give him a solid shot for around 60 or 70 yards with touchdown potential.
