ANALYSIS: Baker Mayfield's impressive Week 1 performance, where he threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions, makes him a strong waiver wire target for fantasy football managers who need a quarterback.
The Buccaneers’ offense, equipped with playmakers like Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, offers Mayfield a solid supporting cast to continue producing big numbers. The two wideouts combined for three total touchdowns in Week 1 against the Commanders.
His ability to spread the ball effectively and take advantage of the Bucs' strong receiving corps suggests he could be more than just a one-week wonder. Mayfield’s accuracy and poise in the pocket showed real progress, giving him solid upside in the coming weeks.

With the Bucs' offense likely to remain pass-heavy, Mayfield should have ample opportunities to put up fantasy points each week. Mayfield plays at Detroit in Week 2 but will have a juicy matchup in Week 3 against Denver at home.
Given his Week 1 success, he has the potential to be a reliable streaming option or even a regular starter in leagues with 12 or more teams. Fantasy managers should capitalize on his hot start and add him before he solidifies himself as a must-start QB in favorable matchups.
