Updating an earlier report, Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell left Sunday’s game in the sixth inning with a left finger contusion. Russell was replaced in the lineup by Ben Zobrist. Russell is considered day-to-day. If Russell is forced to miss any games, second baseman Javier Baez would likely play shortstop with Zobrist playing second base.

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto (elbow) could return before July 1 according to manager Bruce Bochy. Cueto threw from 120 feet Sunday. He felt so good that he even did some light throwing from the pitchers mound. Cueto has been out since May 1 with a right elbow strain.

Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell was removed from Sunday’s game in the bottom of the sixth inning. There was no mention of an injury and there should be more known on his status shortly. Ben Zobrist replaced Addison Russell in the lineup with second baseman Javier Baez moving over to shortstop. Russell finished Sunday 1-for-2.

San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey will return to the Giants lineup Sunday after sitting out Saturday with an elbow contusion. The injury was never considered serious and Posey will bat second. Posey remains one of the best catchers in all fantasy formats despite his low home run total.

Chicago Cubs second baseman Javier Baez will sit Saturday versus the Mets. It’s just a routine day off for Baez who is replaced at second base by Ben Zobrist. Zobrist will bat first Saturday and has been hitting the ball well lately. Baez should be back in the lineup Sunday.
