Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon said Monday that it's possible but unlikely that third baseman Kris Bryant (shoulder) will need a trip to the disabled list. Bryant will be sidelined for his third straight game on Monday. It’s good news for Bryant owners and it appears that he could return soon.

The Chicago Cubs have announced that Duane Underwood will start and make his major league debut Monday versus the Dodgers. Underwood is 3-7 with a 4.43 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 14 games (13 starts) for Triple-A Iowa. Underwood will face a tough Dodgers lineup and is likely to be sent down after tomorrow’s start.

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto (elbow) came out of Saturday's rehab start without pain and said he just wants to pitch one more rehab start. Cueto was excellent on Saturday and if everything goes well in his next rehab start, Cueto could return in early July.

Gonzalez has been sidelined since April 24 with right shoulder inflammation. Over 12 1/3 innings, Gonzalez has a 12.41 ERA. He's not much of a fantasy option even when he is healthy.
