Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

5043 articles

You won't find a bigger Cubs fan than myself. Aside from my love of fantasy sports, which includes MLB, NFL and NBA, I own my own animal care business. I graduated from Columbia College in Chicago and currently reside in Chicago, IL. My love of fantasy sports started for me in the early 2000's and I have steadily been active with the same group of friends year in and year out for every league in baseball, basketball and football. I am hoping to help all RotoBaller members with any questions they may have. I consider myself an expert with minor league prospects, as it is a love of mine. I hope to give the best advice I can to the RotoBaller world!

Gio Gonzalez Feels His Shoulder His 95 Percent

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez (shoulder) said that he has done a lot of physical therapy during the quarantine and feels as if he’s around 95%. Gonzalez signed a one-year deal this offseason, but with Michael Kopech (elbow) and Carlos Rodon (elbow) returning from Tommy John surgery, it’s unclear what his role with […]

Kyle Ryan Hasn’t Arrived At Cubs Camp

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Kyle Ryan has been absent from the team's camp due to a process-based testing delay. It sounds as though he should join up with the team at Wrigley Field sooner than later. The lefty latched onto a role with the Club last season and was successful with a 3.54 ERA in […]

Yu Darvish Adds Another Pitch

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish has added a new pitch called the "Supreme,” which is a hybrid pitch that combines a two-seam fastball with a splitter. This will be his 10th pitch that he throws. Darvish had a phenomenal second half of 2019 in which the right-hander had 118 strikeouts and only seven walks […]

Carlos Rodon Is Ready To Contribute

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Carlos Rodon (elbow) threw the equivalent of three innings on Sunday against live hitters. Rodon threw 45 pitches and is now fully recovered from the Tommy John surgery he underwent 14 months ago. The injury bug has been the biggest downfall in his career thus far, but Rodon said he […]

Michael Kopech Dealing With Personal Matter

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Michael Kopech (personal) will be away from the team's camp as he deals with a personal matter. White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said that Kopech is healthy, but there is no timetable for his return. Kopech is expected to be with the big league club this season after recovering […]

Jose Quintana To Be Re-Evaluated In Two Weeks

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Jose Quintana (thumb) underwent surgery to repair an injury on his left thumb that required five stitches. Quintana will start throwing and be re-evaluated in two weeks. The lefty has had an underwhelming showing in two and a half years as a Cub and owners shouldn’t consider him outside of streaming […]

Brad Wieck Ready To Return

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Brad Wieck (heart) appears ready to go for the Cubs after undergoing a heart procedure in February. Wieck was acquired by the Cubs from the Padres last year and finished with a 5.71 ERA between the two clubs. Wieck pitched better with the Cubs and will compete for a bullpen spot […]

Kris Bryant To Bat First For Cubs

Chicago Cubs manager David Ross has remained committed to batting third baseman Kris Bryant first and first baseman Anthony Rizzo in the two-hole this year. Andrew Vaughn, Nick Madrigal Part Of White Sox Player Pool

Chicago White Sox first base prospect Andrew Vaughn and second base prospect Nick Madrigal are among the 44 players the White Sox have chosen for their 60-man player pool so far. Anthony Rizzo Plans To Play

Jon Heyman of the MLB Network is reporting that Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo is planning to play this season. The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with second-round pick Jared Kelley. The right-handed pitcher was projected to go in first round and was considered a steal for the White Sox. Cubs Sign Burl Carraway And Two More Draft Picks

The Chicago Cubs have agreed to terms with rookie relief pitcher Burl Carraway on Thursday. Many expect Carraway to climb quickly through the minors and be with the Cubs in the near […]

White Sox Expect Michael Kopech To Make Impact In 2020

Chicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn met with the media on Thursday and said that he believes starting pitcher Michael Kopech could make a “significant impact” this season. Kopech is still considered one of the top pitching prospects and made his debut in 2018, but underwent Tommy John surgery after just four starts. The […]

White Sox Come To Terms With Garrett Crochet

The Chicago White Sox have come to terms with first-rounder Garrett Crochet on Monday. The southpaw will get a $4,547,500 signing bonus. The lefty can hit up to 100 mph and the former Tennessee Volunteer could be on the fast track to the big leagues. Crochet’s biggest battle in college was consistency. The left-hander also had […]

Cubs Cut Carlos Asuaje, Brock Stewart

The Chicago Cubs are in the process of cutting minor league players, and that includes second baseman Carlos Asuaje and relief pitcher Brock Stewart. Carlos Rodon Could Return In June

Rodon has seemed to be having a positive recovery and the extra time off […]

Michael Kopech Optioned

The Chicago White Sox have optioned starting pitcher Michael Kopech to Triple-A Charlotte. Kopech is recovering from Tommy John surgery, but showed great command earlier this spring. With the White Sox hoping to compete this year, Kopech shouldn’t be in the minors for too long. Kopech has high upside, but is likely to be on […]

Edwin Encarnacion Sidelined With Hip Injury

Chicago White Sox first baseman/designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion (hip) will be sidelined with a sore right hip.
