Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

5043 articles

You won't find a bigger Cubs fan than myself. Aside from my love of fantasy sports, which includes MLB, NFL and NBA, I own my own animal care business. I graduated from Columbia College in Chicago and currently reside in Chicago, IL. My love of fantasy sports started for me in the early 2000's and I have steadily been active with the same group of friends year in and year out for every league in baseball, basketball and football. I am hoping to help all RotoBaller members with any questions they may have. I consider myself an expert with minor league prospects, as it is a love of mine. I hope to give the best advice I can to the RotoBaller world!

Ken Giles Throws Bullpen Session On Tuesday

Toronto Blue Jays closer Ken Giles (forearm) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday. If Giles feels well after his bullpen session, the next steps would be to throw another bullpen session and then move onto live batting practice and eventually return to the active roster. That’s a lot to achieve with only around a month […]

Yonny Chirinos Undergoes Tommy John Surgery

Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Yonny Chirinos (elbow) has undergone Tommy John surgery and his season is now over. The typical recovery time for Tommy John surgery is 12-15 months and it will be a while before the 26-year-old returns to live action as manager Kevin Cash expects him to miss all of the 2021 […]

Indians Don't Have A Spot For Zach Plesac

Cleveland Indians President Chris Antonetti informed starting pitcher Zach Plesac on Tuesday that at the moment the Indians don’t have a spot for him on the big league roster. Plesac was off to a strong start of the season, but his carelessness by going out in Chicago found him demoted. If Plesac were to serve […]

Cristian Pache Optioned

Atlanta Braves outfield prospect Cristian Pache has been optioned to the team’s alternative training facility. Pache is one of the top outfield prospects in the game, but only saw four at-bats while replacing Nick Markakis (COVID-19) who was on COVID-19 injured list. It makes sense as Pache can work on his game more and get […]

Bo Bichette Could Resume Baseball Activities This Weekend

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette (knee) could return to baseball activities this weekend. The youngster is recovering from a Grade 1 sprain of the lateral collateral ligament in his knee. It’s a positive sign as it looks like his return is trending upwards. Bichette was tearing the cover off the ball in 14 games […]

Jose Quintana Activated

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jose Quintana has been activated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Quintana was sidelined after suffering a thumb injury unloading dishes. Quintana lost his spot in the rotation and Alec Mills has been rewarded by retaining the number five spot in the rotation. The veteran lefty will return as a bullpen […]

Tyler Chatwood Activated For Tuesday's Start

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Tyler Chatwood has been activated from the 10-day injured list and will start on Tuesday against the Detroit Tigers. Chatwood had been sidelined with a back issue. Ozzie Albies Takes Batting Practice On Tuesday

Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies (wrist) took batting practice on Tuesday. Albies has been sidelined since August 5 and felt good about how his batting practice went. Nico Hoerner Swipes Two Bags

Chicago Cubs second baseman Nico Hoerner went 1-for-4 with a run and RBI on Monday against the Tigers. Hoerner also swiped his first and second stolen bases of the year. David Bote Goes Yard On Monday

Chicago Cubs third baseman David Bote continues to perform well in place of Kris Bryant (wrist). Bote went 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and run scored. Bote is only hitting .210 on the season, but he has a knack for performing at the right time and now has 15 RBI on the season. […]

Javier Baez Slugs Two Home Runs

Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez broke out with a pair of home runs on Monday against the Detroit Tigers. Baez finished the game 3-for-5 to go along with three RBI. Baez has gotten off to a terrible start in 2020, but now has at least one hit in four straight games. Baez is a dangerous […]

Tyler Chatwood Set To Return On Tuesday

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Tyler Chatwood (back) will return from the 10-day injured list and start against the Tigers on Tuesday. Chatwood had two excellent starts and one rough outing before being sidelined. He will have a favorable matchup against the Tigers, but shouldn’t be deployed outside of DFS right away.

Dylan Cease Walks Three On Sunday

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Dylan Cease stringed together another quality start on Sunday versus the Chicago Cubs. Cease only allowed four hits and two runs, but was a bit shaky with three walks. He also recorded five strikeouts. The big issue with Cease has been his walks, but he owns a solid 3.13 ERA […]

Jeremy Jeffress Records Third Save

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress picked up his third save of the season on Sunday. Jeffress was a bit shaky in his outing and allowed a hit and two walks in 1 1/3 inning. Manager David Ross has yet to formally name a closer, but Jeffress and Rowan Wick appear to be his preferred […]

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert homered in his second straight game on Saturday. Reynaldo Lopez Goes 3 1/3 Innings In Return

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez went 3 1/3 innings in his return from the injured list on Saturday against the Cubs. Kyle Hendricks Suffers Another Tough Loss

Chicago Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks picked up his second consecutive loss on Saturday versus the White Sox. The right hander is now […]

Jose Abreu Hits Fifth Homer In Two Games

The Chicago White Sox have demoted outfielder Nicky Delmonico to open a spot for starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez. Delmonico has been up and down this season for the White Sox. The outfielder is only hitting .200 in 15 at-bats and holds zero fantasy value when active.

Reynaldo Lopez Activated And Will Start Saturday

The Chicago White Sox have activated starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez from the injured list and he will start Saturday against the Chicago Cubs. Lopez only 2/3 of an inning in his first start of the season before being diagnosed with shoulder soreness and landing on the 10-day injured list. In that start versus the Twins, […]

Danny Mendick Goes Yard

Chicago White Sox second baseman Danny Mendick went 1-for-4 with a home run in Friday’s contest versus the Chicago Cubs.
