Doug Goldring 4 years agoMichael Chavis Optioned To Triple-A
Boston Red Sox second baseman Michael Chavis has been optioned to Triple-A Worcester. It seems this move will correspond with Christian Arroyo's return from the injured list. Chavis has performed decently well in limited time this season, with a .273/.273/.485 slash line through 33 at-bats, but there's no need to hold him on fantasy rosters.
Doug Goldring 4 years agoTy France Will Start Monday
Seattle Mariners designated hitter Ty France (forearm) has been activated from the injured list, and will be in the lineup Monday night against the Oakland Athletics. France has been out since May 13 with the injury, and was struggling mightily over the several weeks before. For the season, he has a .229/.333/.367 slash line, and […]
Doug Goldring 4 years agoKyle Lewis Has Two Hits, Steals A Base
Seattle Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis stole his second base of the season Sunday against the San Diego Padres. He also went 2-for-3 in the contest with two singles. It's good to see Lewis contributing in the speed department, but he doesn't have an extra-base hit since May 7. There's plenty of potential here, but Lewis […]

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Justin Dunn showed off his potential yet again on Sunday against the San Diego Padres, allowing one run on just one hit and three walks while striking out four in five innings. Doug Goldring 4 years agoAlex Verdugo Pinch Hits Sunday
Boston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo (hamstring) pinch-hit in Sunday's contest against the Philadelphia Phillies, grouding into a force-out against Archie Bradley in the nith inning. It was Verdugo's first appearance since Friday, when he left the game with a hamstring strain. This appearance is a very good sign that the issue is not a […]
Doug Goldring 4 years agoEduardo Rodriguez Saddled With Third Loss Sunday
Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez took his third loss of the season Sunday against the Phillies, who blitzed him right from the start for four runs in the first inning. Doug Goldring 4 years agoFranchy Cordero Launches Monster Home Run
Boston Red Sox outfielder Franchy Cordero hit his first home run of the season Sunday, a 474-foot moon shot off of Phillies starter Zack Wheeler in the top of the eighth inning. Even after the solo homer, Cordero's OPS for the year is a paltry .501, and he is on the roster bubble with Christian […]

Doug Goldring 4 years agoXander Bogaerts Rests On Sunday
Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts is out of the lineup Sunday afternoon. With a team off day on Monday, this gives Bogaerts back-to-back days to rest. Bogaerts has been arguably the best offensive shortstop in the majors this season with a 1.004 OPS, ten homers, and four steals. Fantasy managers can expect him back […]
Doug Goldring 4 years agoJ.D. Martinez Sits Sunday
Boston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez will get the day off Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies. With a team day off Monday, this will give him two days to rest. Martinez has gotten plenty of time in the outfield in National League parks, so this is not an indication that he will sit in […]
Doug Goldring 4 years agoAlex Verdugo Remains Out Sunday
Boston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo (hamstring) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Phillies. Verdugo strained his hamstring on Friday, and received the day off Saturday. Verdugo was meant to get checked out Sunday, so an updated prognosis may be forthcoming. In the meantime, Danny Santana is manning center field. Fantasy managers should […]

Boston Red Sox outfield prospect Jarren Duran had a huge day Saturday at Triple-A Worcester, going 5-for-5 with two home runs, a double, three RBI, and three runs scored. Seattle Mariners relief pitchers Robert Dugger and Anthony Misiewicz were reinstated from the COVID list Saturday, just one day after being placed on it.
