The St. Louis Cardinals called up first baseman Luke Voit from Triple-A Memphis. Voit wasn't doing great at Triple-A, slashing just .237/.348/.339, but he'll join the big club and work as a bat off the bench. He'll take the roster spot of outfielder Tyler O'Neill, who was sent down on Thursday.

Mayers is one of a few Cardinals relievers who has gone up and down several times already this season. He'll likely be back up before too long.
