Lonnie Chisenhall Scratched from Wednesday's Lineup
Cleveland Indians outfielder Lonnie Chisenhall was scratched from Wednesday's starting lineup due to bilateral calf soreness. He was on the disabled list for almost two months because of a calf strain, so while the team doesn't seem overly concerned right now, it's certainly something to keep an eye on. Tyler Naquin took over in right […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoBlake Jarwin Working as the Top Tight End in Dallas
Dallas Cowboys tight end Blake Jarwin worked as the top tight end option in organized team activities and minicamp. After Jason Witten's retirement, the Cowboys were left with a big hole at tight end. Rico Gathers got plenty of hype but was reportedly barely on the field and mostly asked to block when he was. […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoAllen Hurns Working as the Clear Top Receiver
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns was working as the team's "clear-cut" top receiving option throughout spring practices. With Dez Bryant gone and not much else talent-wise on the wide receiver depth chart, Hurns could be in for a fairly big season. The Cowboys offense will run through Ezekiel Elliott, limiting the fantasy impact of […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoMatt Carpenter Drives in Three Runs on Tuesday
St. Louis Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter had an excellent game on Tuesday, hitting a home run and a double. He drove in three runs and scored two. After a terrible start to the season, Carpenter has been on fire lately, moving his batting average up to .239 and his OPS to an even .800. He […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoGreg Holland Pitches Well in His Return to the Cardinals Bullpen
St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Greg Holland (hip) pitched well in his return to the Cardinals bullpen on Tuesday. He tossed a perfect inning, striking out two and inducing a ground ball. Holland was awful before going on the disabled list and wasn't faring much better in the minor leagues during his rehab assignment. It'll […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoCody Allen Gets One Out to Record His 15th Save
Cleveland Indians closer Cody Allen got the last out of Tuesday's win to record his 15th save of the season. He threw just two pitches, inducing a fly out to close out a 6-3 victory. Allen wasn't in to start the ninth inning since Cleveland was up 6-1, but Zach McAllister was unable to get […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoMike Clevinger Strikes Out 10 on Tuesday
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger struck out 10 batters in 7 2/3 innings on Tuesday, allowing just a run on five hits and two walks. It was another excellent start by Clevinger, who improved to 6-2 and lowered his ERA to an even 3.00. He's been the best non-Kluber starter in the Cleveland rotation […]

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Luke Weaver allowed four runs on six hits and four walks in five innings on Tuesday. He struck out four and needed 99 pitches to get through his five innings. David A Marcillo 6 years agoMichael Gallup Showing a "Good Rapport" With Dak Prescott
Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver Michael Gallup has reportedly shown a "good rapport" with quarterback Dak Prescott. It can be hard to analyze things at organized team activities, but Gallup was able to find "ways to generate space" and should have an opportunity to see plenty of targets with Dez Bryant no longer on the […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoDallas Goedert Expected to Have a Week 1 Role
Philadelphia Eagles rookie tight end Dallas Goedert is expected to have an immediate role in Week 1. Zach Ertz remains atop the tight end depth chart of course, but with Trey Burton gone, Goedert will slide into the No. 2 tight end role. Goedert wasn't much of a blocking tight end in college, so he […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoDavid Irving Suspended for Four Games
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman David Irving was suspended by the NFL for four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. He won't be able to take the field until the Week 5 game against the Houston Texans. Irving failed a test and served a four-game suspension in 2017 as well. Entering a contract year, Irving […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoRico Gathers Mostly Works as a Blocker in OTAs
Dallas Cowboys tight end Rico Gathers reportedly "didn't get many chances" to catch passes during organized team activities. Gathers worked mostly as a blocking tight end, and it seemed like the team had him focusing on that aspect of tight end play instead of as a more fantasy-relevant pass-catching tight end. Gathers has been a […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoTrevor Bauer Has Another Strong Start on Monday
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Trevor Bauer had another excellent start on Monday, tossing seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out eight. Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis had a great game on Monday, finishing 3-for-4 with a home run and two singles. He scored two runs and drove in another two. David A Marcillo 6 years agoMiles Mikolas Allows Four Runs in Five Innings on Monday
St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas allowed four runs on six hits and a walk in five innings on Monday. He ended up with a no decision on the night, as the Phillies won in the 10th inning. Mikolas has hit a bit of a bump in the road, but he's still been more […]

St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina had a great game on Monday, finishing 3-for-4 with a home run and a double. He scored twice and also drew a walk. Molina was in a bit of a slump after coming off the disabled list, but Monday's strong game brought his batting average up to .273. He […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoGreg Allen Optioned to Triple-A on Monday
Cleveland Indians outfielder Greg Allen was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Monday. With Yonder Alonso returning from the family medical emergency list, Allen heads back to Columbus to make room. David A Marcillo 6 years agoCleveland Signs Marc Rzepczynski
The Cleveland Indians signed relief pitcher Marc Rzepczynski to a minor league contract on Monday. He was assigned to Triple-A Columbus. Rzepczynski was released by Seattle after struggling to a 9.39 ERA. He's been a solid lefty specialist in previous seasons, however, and should be able to contribute to the Cleveland bullpen soon.
David A Marcillo 6 years agoYonder Alonso Back on the Active Roster on Monday
Cleveland Indians first baseman Yonder Alonso was activated from the family medical emergency list on Monday. Alonso missed the weekend series against the Twins, but is back for the start of the week. Greg Allen was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Alonso on the active roster.
David A Marcillo 6 years agoMelky Cabrera Elects Free Agency
Outfielder Mekly Cabrera elected free agency rather than taking an assignment to Triple-A Columbus with the Cleveland Indians. Cabrera signed a minor league deal with Cleveland but struggled to a .207/.242/.293 batting line and was designated for assignment. He'll hope to latch on as depth with another organization, but might have a hard time finding […]

David A Marcillo 6 years agoShane Bieber Allows a Hit Parade but Only One Run
Cleveland Indians rookie starting pitcher Shane Bieber missed a quality start by one out, pitching 5 2/3 innings, allowing just one run, but 10 hits and a walk. He struck out seven. Bieber was able to pitch around trouble, but 10 hits and a walk is certainly not a sustainable way to get outs. Bieber […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoJason Kipnis Out of the Lineup on Sunday
Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis is not in Sunday's starting lineup. He's only 2-for-14 since returning from a neck injury, so Sunday is likely a day off to try to get him right.
