Mike Wallace Is a Risky Play for Week 1
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Mike Wallace is a risky play for Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons. He has some upside, but he comes with a lot of risk. With Nick Foles getting the start in place of Carson Wentz (knee), the Eagles will likely be a bit more conservative with the deep ball, which […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoNelson Agholor Could Do Well on Thursday Night
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor could have a strong start to the season on Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons. He'll be working as the team's WR1 because of Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) needing a few more weeks to recover from offseason surgery. Agholor was shaping up as a solid WR3 even with Jeffery around, […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoDarren Sproles Not a Great Week 1 Option
Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles is not a recommended fantasy option for Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons. Sproles is back for one more season in the Philly backfield, but he'll be sharing third downs with Corey Clement and won't see much of the field if any on early downs. Sproles should still be […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoCorey Clement Unlikely to Make Much Noise in Week 1
Philadelphia Eagles running back Corey Clement isn't expected to make much noise in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons. Clement will be the main backup for starter Jay Ajayi and will also mix in on third down plays along with veteran Darren Sproles. Clement is a high-upside running back for the 2018 season and could […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoJay Ajayi Could Struggle on Thursday Night
Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi could struggle on Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons. He's been missing some practices and limited in others due to a foot injury, but he is expected to play in Week 1. Still, he's a mid-range RB2 at best, so owners should temper their expectations. The Falcons defense should […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoNick Foles Unlikely to Replicate Super Bowl Heroics in Week 1
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles will get the start for the Eagles in Week 1, but he isn't a recommended starter for your fantasy team. With the team's top wide receiver, Alshon Jeffery (shoulder), missing the first game, Foles will have a limited cast to work with. Foles is currently in the lower end of […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoMack Hollins Out for Thursday Night's Game
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Mack Hollins (groin) is out for Thursday night's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) is also out, leaving Nelson Agholor and Mike Wallace as the key receivers on the Eagles, along with tight end Zach Ertz. Hollins has dealt with groin issues throughout training camp and the preseason, but […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoAlshon Jeffery is "Week-To-Week"
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) is "week-to-week," according to head coach Doug Pederson. An earlier report stated that Jeffery would miss the first two weeks of the season, and that still seems accurate. He is on the active roster, so he'll almost certainly play before Week 7, but it's almost a certainty that […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoWeek 23 MLB Closers and Saves Report
This week was another interesting one in the bullpens around the league. The Phillies continued to be unpredictable, the Nationals continued to struggle to end games with a lead, and the Twins seem to have finally settled on a ninth-inning arm. Meanwhile, formerly elite closers are struggling in Cleveland and Los Angeles, but only one […]

St. Louis Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter (illness) is back in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Cleveland Indians relief pitcher Cody Allen took the loss after blowing the save in Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Allen pitched an inning, but allowed two runs on two hits and two walks. With Brad Hand pitching well, Allen could start seeing fewer and fewer save situations as we get into September. He was […]

David A Marcillo 6 years agoZack Martin Back at Practice on Tuesday
Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Zack Martin (knee) was back at practice on Tuesday. Martin assured everyone he would be ready for Week 1, and his presence at Tuesday's practice more or less confirms that, assuming no further setbacks. With Travis Frederick (illness) possibly out for an extended period, Martin's return is a huge benefit for […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoKavon Frazier Should Be Ready for Week 1
Dallas Cowboys defensive back Kavon Frazier was forced to leave Sunday's preseason game due to a separated shoulder. Frazier was filling in for Xavier Woods, who is out with a hamstring injury. Frazier's departure was immediately a huge concern for the Cowboys defense, but it seems he avoided a serious injury, even saying that he […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoCole Beasley Hauls in Three Passes on Sunday
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley caught three passes in Sunday's preseason game, gaining 31 yards. Beasley will certainly have a role in the passing game this season, but on a team that will run most of its offense on the ground with occasional short passes, Beasley may only develop depth value in PPR leagues.
David A Marcillo 6 years agoMichael Gallup Comes Up Empty on Sunday
Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver Michael Gallup failed to catch his two targets in Sunday's preseason game. He ended up playing only eight snaps, which clearly means the Cowboys see him as a starter in Week 1. On a weak receiving corps that's missing Dez Bryant, Gallup has a chance to develop real value this […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoJay Ajayi Is Dealing With a "Lower-Body" Injury
Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi hasn't practiced in eight days due to a "lower-body" injury. The team hasn't given more information than that, but any kind of injury below Ayaji's waist is a legitimate concern due to his history of knee injuries. The Eagles kick off the NFL season next Thursday, so the hope […]

St. Louis Cardinals rookie starting pitcher Austin Gomber picked up a win and a quality start on Sunday, pitching six innings while allowing just two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk. David A Marcillo 6 years agoMatt Carpenter Stays Hot on Sunday
St. Louis Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter continued his torrid season on Sunday, finishing 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. All four of his hits were doubles as he moved his batting average up to .273 and his OPS to .964. He's been unreal lately and is squarely in the National League MVP conversation.

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Shane Bieber picked up his eighth win of the season on Sunday, pitching 5 1/3 innings while allowing four runs on six hits. David A Marcillo 6 years agoCarson Wentz Not Yet Cleared for Contact
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz (knee) has not yet been cleared for contact. With Week 1 rapidly approaching, the decision on Wentz may come down to the last minute. If he can't go, Nick Foles would be under center for Week 1, and the Eagles will hope Super Bowl Foles shows up, and not Preseason […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoDak Prescott Likely Done for the Preseason
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott likely won't play again until Week 1 of the regular season. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated, "I think we'll be pretty conservative here," and said there's a "good chance" Prescott won't play again in the preseason. He's flying a bit under the radar in drafts this season, and while he […]
David A Marcillo 6 years agoWeek 22 MLB Closers and Saves Report
Little dudes in the Little League World Series this week; big names, big news this week in baseball's bullpens. Meanwhile, the White Sox laugh […]

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz caught four passes on five targets on Thursday, gaining 26 yards. Ertz won't play in the fourth preseason game, so he ends up with 46 yards on five catches. David A Marcillo 6 years agoDallas Goedert Gains 26 Yards on Thursday
Philadelphia Eagles rookie tight end Dallas Goedert caught two of his five targets on Thursday, gaining 26 yards. Goedert has played well this preseason and has certainly earned a Week 1 role, although he'll clearly be playing behind Zach Ertz.
