Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

388 articles

My name is Adam Erhardt and I am excited to be part of the RotoBaller family. Like many of our RotoBaller subscribers, my passion for fantasy stemmed from my love of sports growing up, particularly football. Despite my love for the sport, being a lifelong Buffalo Bills and University of Kentucky fan made for some very challenging years growing up. Nevertheless my loyalty remained strong. After seeing that I was as committed to following the sport in week 14 as I was in week 1 (despite the Bills struggles throughout the 2000's), a friend of mine suggested I give fantasy football a try. After looking more into what fantasy was, I decided to give play and immediately became hooked. Playing fantasy football changed my life. While some people hunt, some golf, and some fish, my hobby became fantasy football. As the years passed, and as my love for fantasy grew stronger, I decided to branch out beyond just football. In some situations, like in the case of basketball, this experiment went pretty well for me. In other situations, like in the case of hockey, things went poorly. Regardless of the results, each new sport taught me more and more about this hobby that I love, and made me hungry for more, a hunger that led me to the sport of NASCAR. Although I was not raised on NASCAR, there was something about the sport that always intrigued me. From the fan culture, to the skillset that it takes to driver cars at such a highspeed, I always had a great deal of respect for the sport of NASCAR. Because of this I thought it would be worth giving NASCAR DFS a try. While I figured it would be a fun trial, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. For the first time in my life I found myself watching races intently. The more and more I played, the more and more I started to become a fan of the sport both in the real world and in the fantasy world. In my opinion, there is no fantasy sport that has the gamesmanship and strategery that NASCAR DFS has. While the sport of football will always be my first love, and while I always appreciate the skillset that it takes to be successful at fantasy sport, there is something about fantasy NASCAR that separates it from all others. The love and passion that I have for all things fantasy (and for NASCAR fantasy in particular) is what led me to want to become part of the fantasy industry. As someone who has personally experienced how DFS can change someone's life for the better, I feel it is my turn to give back to the fantasy community in any way possible. This is why I am so grateful and excited to join the award winning NASCAR news team at RotoBaller.com, and why I look forward to working with each of you in this wild and crazy game we all love.

Kyle Busch Finishes Last For Second Time In Four Races.

On lap 15 of the FireKeepers Casino 400, Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch made contact, ending the day for the No. 8 Chevy Camaro. Sunday's DNF marks the fourth time the 2020 Cup Champion has finished P30 or worse this season and his second last-place finish over the last four races. With three wins on […]

Chase Briscoe A Value Play In DFS At Michigan

On Saturday, Chase Briscoe qualified 19th for Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway. While seemingly an underwhelming play, the 28-year-old does present some value for DFS this weekend. In his two Cup starts and lone Xfinity appearance at this track, Briscoe has finished higher than he started all three times. At a salary […]

Richmond Winner Chris Buescher Qualifies Fourth At Michigan.

Fresh off of a first-place finish at Richmond, Chris Buescher will start fourth in Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400. While momentum can certainly be a thing, Buescher's track history at Michigan suggests that it is unlikely that the No. 17 will be in victory lane in back-to-back weeks. In his 12 Cup starts at this track, […]

Michael McDowell A Sneaky DFS Play At Michigan.

It's no secret that Michael McDowell has struggled at Michigan International Speedway throughout his career. In his 16 Cup starts at this track, he has only led one lap and achieved just three fastest laps. Over the last five races, the results haven't been much better, as the No. 34 has an average finish of […]

What To Do With William Byron At Michigan?

Heading into Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway, many DFS players are wondering what to do with William Byron. With four wins already this season and given his speed in practice and qualifying (he qualified in P7), he is undoubtedly a tempting choice to build our DFS lineups around. However, his past performances […]

Ty Gibbs Among Three Toyotas To Qualify In Top Five At Michigan.

On Saturday, Ty Gibbs qualified third for the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Sunday's race will mark the third time that the 20-year-old will start in the top-5 this season, his first as a full-time Cup driver. While Ford was the focus of NASCAR talk radio heading into Michigan, it was Toyota that […]

Temper Your Expectations For Christopher Bell At Michigan.

After an impressive practice round, Christopher Bell followed it up by qualifying on the pole for Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan. With one win and 11 top-10s this season, the 28-year-old is always a driver to keep an eye on. However, despite his impressive season, it's worth noting that his recent performances have been […]

Kyle Larson Looking To Bounce Back At Michigan

Between June 4 – July 2, Kyle Larson had an impressive run of four consecutive top-10 finishes, three of which were in the top five. However, in the last four races, his performance has been less than ideal, as he has had three finishes of 19th or worse. Despite the recent challenges, on Sunday, the […]

A.J. Allmendinger On Baby Watch Heading Into Sunday's Race.

On Saturday afternoon, A.J. Allmendinger qualified 24th for Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway. However, for Allmendinger the most exciting news this weekend is that he and his wife Tara are expecting their first child. "Baby Dinger," as he was affectionally called by the mother-to-be in an Instagram post, is due on Monday, […]

Corey Lajoie Signs Extension With Spire Motorsports

On Wednesday, Corey LaJoie shared that he has secured a multi-year extension with Spire Motorsports, providing the experienced driver with the stability he has been searching for throughout his career. Between 2014-2020, Lajoie competed for four different Cup Series teams, driving vehicles for all three of NASCAR's primary manufacturers. With this extension in place, the […]

Pit-Road Penalty Hurts Michael McDowell At Richmond

Despite a disappointing 22nd-place finish in Sunday's Cook Out 400, Michael McDowell still remains in the top 16 of the NASCAR playoff standings. While finishing 22nd isn't terrible in this particular instance, it was a letdown due to missed opportunities. McDowell started at 18th but used a bold pit strategy that kept him on the […]

Chase Briscoe Continues To Exceed Value In New Aero Package

During Sunday afternoon's race at Richmond Raceway, Chase Briscoe continued to impress with his performance in the new aero package. This package, which was first introduced in March, is specifically designed for road courses and short tracks and aims to reduce downforce. Despite the new setup making handling more challenging, Briscoe has managed it quite […]

Late-Race Mistake Keeps Denny Hamlin From Going Back-To-Back

On Sunday, Denny Hamlin came in second place in the Cook Out 400, marking his 18th top-five finish at Richmond Raceway. Fresh off a victory at Pocono, the 42-year-old veteran was in position to go back-to-back, but a brake issue prevented him from passing Chris Buescher, the eventual race-winner. In an interview with NBC Sports, […]

Brad Keselowski's Bounce-Back Season Continues

Brad Keselowski's bounce-back season continued at Richmond on Sunday when he finished in sixth place after leading a season-high 102 laps. Following a dreadful 2022 season, the former Cup Series champion has had a much better 2023. Although he has not won a race since April 2021 at Talladega, the 16-year Cup veteran sits 11th […]

A Ford Goes To Victory Lane For The First Time Since May

Heading into Sunday's Cook Out 400, and even through Stage 1, Toyota appeared to be the dominant manufacturer at Richmond Raceway. Not only did five of their cars qualify in the top 10, but Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace led a combined 161 laps, showing speed that made a third consecutive victory for Toyota seem […]

Michael McDowell Looks To Be A Solid DFS Play At Richmond

Michael McDowell qualified 18th for Sunday's Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway, a track he finished sixth at earlier this season. As the last driver currently in the playoffs, the Front Row Motorsports veteran will need to have mistake-free races over the next five weeks if he hopes to keep his championship dreams alive. Fortunately […]

Brad Keselowski A Low Priority Play At Richmond

In September 2020, Brad Keselowski put up a dominant performance at Richmond Raceway, leading 192 laps en route to a first-place finish. Despite that amazing performance, in the five races since at this track, the 2012 Cup Series champion has only finished in the top 10 one time. While he has been consistent during this […]

Ty Gibbs Earns Top 10 Start At Richmond

Ty Gibbs, who qualified seventh on Saturday afternoon, will be one of five Toyota's starting in the top 10 of Sunday's Cook Out 400. After finishing in the top five at Pocono last weekend, the 2022 Xfinity Champion will look to build off this momentum heading into Richmond, a track he finished ninth at earlier […]

Is Christopher Bell A Must Play At Richmond?

After making a mistake in turn one of Saturday's qualifying, Christopher Bell will begin 29th in Sunday's Cook Out 400. Despite this setback, don't sleep on the No. 20 Toyota Camry. Since the Next Gen car was introduced, Bell is the only driver to have appeared in the DraftKings optimal lineup in all three of […]

Denny Hamlin Starting Third In Homecoming Race At Richmond

Denny Hamlin, who was raised 20 miles away from Richmond Raceway in nearby Chesterfield, VA, has always considered this course to be his home track, and his results prove this to be true. In 33 Cup starts at Richmond, Hamlin has four wins, 17 top-five finishes, and an average finish of 8.7. When Virginia's fastest […]

Ty Dillon To Have New Crew Chief This Sunday At Richmond

On Tuesday, Spire Motorsports announced that Kevin "Bono" Manion will become crew chief for Ty Dillon, beginning this Sunday at Richmond Raceway. 2023 has been a rough season for the third-generation driver, as his average finishing position is just 28.38. Fans of the No. 77 Chevy should be excited about this move, as Manion is […]

Austin Cindric Struggles To Pass At Pocono

After starting ninth in Sunday's HighPoint.com 400 at Pocono, Austin Cindric finished the day in 23rd place. For a former Pocono winner at the Xfinity level (2021), Cindric seemed to struggle to maneuver around the track. Evidence of this can be seen in the fact that he ranked last in pass differential -- the difference […]

Ross Chastain Has Underwhelming Weekend At Pocono

Ross Chastain's 13th-place finish in Sunday's Highpoint.com 400 concluded what was a disappointing trip to the Pocono mountains for the entire Trackhouse Racing organization. After qualifying 23rd for Saturday's truck race, an accident on Lap 53 led to a 30th-place finish for the Watermelon Man. Shortly after the conclusion of the truck race, Chastain hopped […]

Did Aric Almirola Exceed Value At Pocono On Sunday?

Aric Almirola finished in 12th place at Pocono on Sunday, extending his streak of eight consecutive top-16 finishes at the Tricky Triangle. Despite starting in position 27, Almirola climbed up the field, spending 34.4% of the race in the top 15. DFS players that took a shot on the No. 10 Ford Mustang should be […]

How Many Points Did Denny Hamlin Cost Kyle Larson Managers?

With six laps to go in Sunday's HighPoint.com 400 at Pocono, Kyle Larson was competing with Denny Hamlin for the lead when the two made contact on Turn 1, causing damage to the No. 5 Chevy Camaro. While the controversy of this incident will likely dominate NASCAR talk shows this week, the talk in the […]

Daniel Suarez Finishes Last At Pocono

On Sunday afternoon, Joey Logano wrecked Daniel Suarez on Lap 36 of the HighPoint.com 400 at Pocono, ending the day for the No. 99 Chevy Camaro driver. In an interview with the Motor Racing Network, the Trackhouse Racing sensation blamed his poor track position for the wreck, stating, "We were racing in the back with […]

Is Aric Almirola A Sneaky DFS Play On Sunday?

Despite finishing 34th in Monday’s Cup race, Aric Almirola had a very strong performance at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. After starting third, Almirola stayed toward the front of the pack the entire time he was on track, with his lowest on-track position coming in at sixth place. He was actually leading the race when a […]

Kyle Larson Looking For First Cup Win At Pocono

Despite having four top 10s over his last four races at Pocono, Kyle Larson has never won a Cup race at the Tricky Triangle. Although it looked like he would earn his first win there in 2021, a flat tire on the final lap gave the victory to Alex Bowman instead. In the return visit […]

Austin Cindric Qualifies In Top 10

After finishing 25th at New Hampshire on Monday, Austin Cindric bounced back nicely by qualifying ninth at Pocono. After earning his way into the final round of qualifying, Cindric posted a time of 53.41, giving him his first top-10 Cup start at the Tricky Triangle. Cindric won the Xfinity race there in 2021, although he […]

Daniel Suarez Consistent But Average At Pocono

Heading into Sunday's race at Pocono Raceway, Daniel Suarez finds himself just one spot outside of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. With just six races left in the regular season, he needs to separate himself from the pack and find that speed he has been missing in 2023. On Saturday afternoon, Suarez failed to do […]
