Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

388 articles

My name is Adam Erhardt and I am excited to be part of the RotoBaller family. Like many of our RotoBaller subscribers, my passion for fantasy stemmed from my love of sports growing up, particularly football. Despite my love for the sport, being a lifelong Buffalo Bills and University of Kentucky fan made for some very challenging years growing up. Nevertheless my loyalty remained strong. After seeing that I was as committed to following the sport in week 14 as I was in week 1 (despite the Bills struggles throughout the 2000's), a friend of mine suggested I give fantasy football a try. After looking more into what fantasy was, I decided to give play and immediately became hooked. Playing fantasy football changed my life. While some people hunt, some golf, and some fish, my hobby became fantasy football. As the years passed, and as my love for fantasy grew stronger, I decided to branch out beyond just football. In some situations, like in the case of basketball, this experiment went pretty well for me. In other situations, like in the case of hockey, things went poorly. Regardless of the results, each new sport taught me more and more about this hobby that I love, and made me hungry for more, a hunger that led me to the sport of NASCAR. Although I was not raised on NASCAR, there was something about the sport that always intrigued me. From the fan culture, to the skillset that it takes to driver cars at such a highspeed, I always had a great deal of respect for the sport of NASCAR. Because of this I thought it would be worth giving NASCAR DFS a try. While I figured it would be a fun trial, I did not expect to love it as much as I did. For the first time in my life I found myself watching races intently. The more and more I played, the more and more I started to become a fan of the sport both in the real world and in the fantasy world. In my opinion, there is no fantasy sport that has the gamesmanship and strategery that NASCAR DFS has. While the sport of football will always be my first love, and while I always appreciate the skillset that it takes to be successful at fantasy sport, there is something about fantasy NASCAR that separates it from all others. The love and passion that I have for all things fantasy (and for NASCAR fantasy in particular) is what led me to want to become part of the fantasy industry. As someone who has personally experienced how DFS can change someone's life for the better, I feel it is my turn to give back to the fantasy community in any way possible. This is why I am so grateful and excited to join the award winning NASCAR news team at RotoBaller.com, and why I look forward to working with each of you in this wild and crazy game we all love.

Kyle Busch Underwhelms At Talladega

On Sunday afternoon, Kyle Busch finished 25th YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Although he managed to lead two laps during the race, his overall performance was lackluster, which was disappointing for the 33.73% that rostered him on DraftKings. In fact, the most noteworthy moment of his day was when he was involved in the wreck […...

Brad Keselowski Earns Crucial Stage Win At Talladega

Brad Keselowski had a mixed day at the YellaWood 500 held at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday afternoon. Despite finishing the race in 33rd place, the RFK driver/owner put up a strong performance throughout the race, even winning Stage 2. However, his aggressive driving style caused him to push too hard while entering the trioval with […...

Chase Elliott Worth A Shot At Talladega

Chase Elliott will start in 23rd in Sunday's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Heading into Sunday's race, Elliott is on a bit of a hot streak as he has finished in the top 11 in five straight races. This shows that despite not making the playoffs this season, Elliott is still competing for wins. The […...

Alex Bowman Will Start 20th At Talladega

Alex Bowman qualified 20th for Sunday's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Although anything can happen at a superspeedway, leading to unexpected drivers making it to the DraftKings optimal lineup, it is not recommended to play Alex Bowman in DFS this weekend. In his 15 Cup starts at 'The Dega', the No. 48 has an average […...

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. May Be The Play Of The Week

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will start 35th in Sunday's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Known for his superspeedway prowess, Stenhouse is always in consideration when NASCAR heads to Daytona or Talladega, but what makes him even more appealing this weekend is that he offers a ton of place differential upside. Furthermore, the JTG Daugherty star has […...

Brad Keselowski Looking For Seventh Win At Talladega

On Saturday afternoon, Brad Keselowski qualified fifth for Sunday's Yellawood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. To say that Keselowski has performed well at Talladega throughout his career is an understatement. In his 29 Cup starts at this track, the RFK owner-driver has six wins, 10 top-five finishes (one of which came in the spring of this […...

Joey Logano Will Start On The Front Row At Talladega

On Saturday afternoon, Joey Logano qualified second for Sunday's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Heading into the week, Logano was perhaps the biggest question mark for DFS players. The Team Penske star has had success at this track (three wins, nine top-five finishes, and 11 top-10s), but also 2023 has been a sore spot for […...

Kyle Busch A Core Option At Talladega

On Saturday afternoon, Kyle Busch qualified 25th for the Yellawood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Last week's playoff race could not have gone worse for the former two-time Cup champion as he wrecked out just 73 laps into the race, marking his second straight finish of 20th or worse. Interestingly, when the No. 8 entered the […...

Martin Truex Is Too Risky To Play At Talladega

Martin Truex Jr. will start 16th in Sunday's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Since securing the 2023 regular season title at Daytona, the 43-year-old's performance has been surprisingly lackluster. In the four playoff races, he has an average finish of just 22.5, which is ten spots worse than his overall average finish this year. The […...

Ryan Blaney's Speeding Penalty Costs Him Big At Texas

After finishing in the top-10 in the first two stages of Sunday's AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway, Ryan Blaney ended the day in P28. Blaney, who has performed well at "The Great American Track" throughout his Cup career, looked well on his way to yet another impressive finish when mental mistakes caught […...

Chase Briscoe Delivers Big Value At Texas

Chase Briscoe finished 10th in Sunday's AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. After starting the race 31st, Briscoe was able to work his way to the top 15, a position he spent 53% of the day racing in. On an afternoon when more experienced drivers fell victim to mechanical errors and mental mistakes, […...

Ross Chastain Overcomes Throttle Issue To Finish Second At Texas

Ross Chastain finished second in the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday. Although Chastain would have preferred a win, coming in second was a significant achievement for the Trackhouse team given the difficulties they faced throughout the day. In the latter part of the race, the car experienced a throttle issue, […...

Ryan Preece Will Start 25th At Texas

Ryan Preece will start 25th in Sunday's AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. While we typically look to target a veteran driver that is offering positive place differential at a low salary ($6,000 on DraftKings), it is hard to justify playing Preece this weekend at Texas. In his six Cup starts, the 32-year-old […...

Chase Briscoe The Top Value Play On Sunday At Texas

On Saturday afternoon, Chase Briscoe qualified 31st for Sunday  at Texas Motor Speedway. To say 2023 has been a disappointment for the Stewart-Haas star is an understatement. After making the playoffs in 2022, there was a lot of hope for the 28-year-old entering the season, but those expectations have not been met. Despite the disappointments […...

Ricky Stenhouse Jr.'s Struggles At Texas To Continue This Weekend

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will start 24th in Sunday's AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400. Last weekend, Stenhouse's championship dreams came to an end after he was eliminated from the NASCAR playoffs. Despite the disappointment over the elimination, the Daytona 500 champion did leave it all on the track as he managed to finish in the top 10 […...

Joey Logano Makes For A Nice Bounce Back Play At Texas

On Saturday afternoon, Joey Logano qualified 20th for Sunday's AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400. Last weekend Logano's underwhelming 2023 season effectively came to an end when he wrecked out of the Bristol night race. While the 14 top tens he were impressive, he never felt like a threat to repeat as Cup champion. Now, that's why […...

Bubba Wallace Wins Pole At Texas Motor Speedway

Bubba Wallace will start first at Texas Motor Speedway. Heading into Texas, Wallace needs strong finishes over the next three weeks as he sits in 12th place to start the second round of the NASCAR playoffs. Unfortunately for the 23XI star, Texas has been a challenge for him throughout his Cup career. In his eight […...

Ryan Blaney A Core Play At Texas

Ryan Blaney, who currently sits 11th in the NASCAR playoff standings, will start 23rd in Sunday's AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. While Blaney has never won a points race at the Cup level at Texas, he should still be among your core plays this weekend in DFS. Not only does he have […...

Ross Chastain Offers Less Upside At Texas

Ross Chastain will kick off the second round of the NASCAR playoffs starting fifth in Sunday's AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Heading into Texas, Chastain finds himself ninth in the playoff standings. Given that only the top eight will advance, the Trackhouse Racing star will have to be disciplined over the next […...

Ty Gibbs Puts Up Dominant Performance At Bristol

Ty Gibbs delivered an incredible performance on Saturday night at the Bass Pro Shops Night Race held at Bristol Motor Speedway. Despite starting in eighth place, Gibbs led for 102 laps, registered 40 fastest laps, and remained in the top 15 for 99% of the 500 laps. It is worth noting that Saturday's race was […...

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Eliminated From NASCAR Playoffs At Bristol

On Saturday night, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished 10th in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway but was unfortunately eliminated from the NASCAR playoffs. While fans of the No. 47 are no doubt disappointed about the elimination, the 20.95% that played him on DraftKings should be thrilled by the 49.90 points he […...

Ryan Blaney Advances To The Round Of 12

On Saturday night, Ryan Blaney finished 22nd in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Unfortunately, it was a lackluster performance for the Team Penske star. Also, the 10.35 points he scored on DraftKings did no favors for the 8.20% that rostered him, his finish was strong enough to get him through […...

Christopher Bell Leads 187 Laps At Bristol

Christopher Bell put up a dominant performance Saturday night at the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Although he did not win the race, he did lead a race-high 187 laps en route to a third-place finish. Given the success that he has had at short tracks in the next-gen car, Saturday's […...

Erik Jones A Core Play Saturday At Bristol

Erik Jones will start 31st in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway, making him a strong play in DFS Saturday night. In his 10 career Cup starts at Bristol, Jones has finished in the top 10 five times, four of which resulted in a top-five finish. Likewise, over the last four […...

Ty Gibbs Offers No DFS Upside

Following a strong practice, Ty Gibbs qualified eighth for Saturday's Bass Pro Shop Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Although his performance on Friday was impressive, it's essential to consider how the reigning Xfinity Series champion has fared on short tracks at the Cup level. For instance, in his debut race on Bristol's concrete track […...

Chase Briscoe Is A Value Play In Setup For Saturday

Chase Briscoe will start 14th in the Bass Pro Shop Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. While he is not a playoff driver, Briscoe makes for a great DFS play this weekend. In the 10 races using the new aerodynamics package, the 28-year-old has been in the DraftKings optimal lineup four times, which ties him […...

Aric Almirola Will Start 26th At Bristol

Aric Almirola qualified 26th for Saturday's Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. In his 25 Cup starts on Bristol's concrete track, Almirola has eight DNFs which is double the number of tops 10s that he has recorded at the Last Great Colosseum. Although he captured the pole at this race last year, […...

Ricky Stenhouse Facing Elimination Heading Into Bristol

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will start 25th in Saturday's Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. With Saturday marking the end of the first round of the playoffs, Stenhouse finds himself in a must-win situation heading into Thunder Valley. Given his struggles on short tracks throughout his career, a victory will be a tall […...

Ryan Blaney A Risky Play At Bristol

On Friday afternoon, Ryan Blaney qualified 11th for the Brass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Although he generally performs well at short tracks, the second-generation star has been inconsistent throughout his Cup career on Bristol's concrete track. In his 13 starts on the concrete, he has five top 10s, but an average […...

Christopher Bell Wins Pole For The Third Straight Race

Christopher Bell qualified P1 for Saturday's Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol, marking the third consecutive race where the No. 20 car will start up front. Although it's generally advised to avoid playing Bell when he's towards the front, this week he is a must-start. In the eight short track races that have taken […...
