BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB1
ANALYSIS:
Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler seemed to get back on track after rushing 10 times for 51 yards and a touchdown while also catching five of his seven targets for 49 yards in the Week 14 loss to the Denver Broncos. This marks the fifth rushing touchdown for Ekeler and he has also carried the ball 136 times for 497 yards this season.
Ekeler hasn't produced as highly as fantasy managers expected to see him do this season as both his production and usage have seemed to decline since returning from his previous injury where he missed three weeks at the beginning of the season. However, we saw in Week 14 that despite the Chargers' struggles on offense, quarterback Justin Herbert was still getting the running backs involved. This leaves fantasy managers wondering if he can be a dependable option in Week 15.
In Week 15, the Chargers will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders a team who ranks 23rd in the NFL in fewest rushing yards allowed and 18th in the NFL in fewest rushing touchdowns allowed this season. The matchup this week should give Ekeler a little bit more wiggle room and should be expected to see usage in both the rushing and receiving games. Despite some of the recent struggles, Ekeler should still be viewed as a top running back option in Week 15.
Austin Ekeler is ranked 5th in our Half-PPR rankings for Week 15.
