We’re just one game into the Michael Vick era in Pittsburgh following the knee injury to Ben Roethlisberger, and things have become terrifying for fantasy owners counting on Antonio Brown. The Steelers wide receiver ended his 35-game streak of five or more catches and at least fifty yards (five catches and 42 yards) in Vick’s first game as Pittsburgh’s quarterback.
At least Brown isn’t fretting. He stated he’s feeling "more confident and comfortable this week" with Vick. Let’s be honest; there’s no chance you’re benching Brown in fantasy, and luckily, last week was a blip rather than a trend. Brown was one drop away from scoring a touchdown and completely changing the narrative of his poor fantasy game. This is also the first full week of practice Vick will have as the starting quarterback, and that will only improve the chemistry with his best weapon.
In daily fantasy, Brown is still a WR1 and a great contrarian play with many folks afraid of selecting him after last week’s performance. The matchup against San Diego isn’t ideal for wide receivers, but Brown should get plenty of targets and return to being the only threat to Julio Jones as the top receiver in all of fantasy.
