ANALYSIS: Richardson was welcomed back as the Colts starting quarterback after Joe Flacco blew his opportunity. Maybe the benching was the motivation Richardson needed because he had his best game of the season Sunday against the Jets. He threw for 272 yards and a touchdown, ran for another 32 yards on the ground, and scored two rushing touchdowns.

This was exactly what gamers who invested in Richardson were hoping to see. Unfortunately, he was kicked to waivers in a bunch of leagues so many of the owners who drafted him probably didn’t get to reap the rewards. Richardson’s 10 rushing attempts Sunday were also his second most of the season. It looks like the Colts are finally committed to using his legs and letting the chips fall where they may in terms of injuries.
There are few quarterbacks available on waivers with this kind of upside. If you need a quarterback this week, then Richardson is your best bet. He offers a safe floor with his rushing output, and if he throws the ball like he did yesterday, then he will be a top-five quarterback for the rest of the season
Add him in 12+ team leagues and let’s hope he can keep the momentum rolling in a tough Week 12 showdown with the Detroit Lions.
