BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 36% of leagues
ANALYSIS: When a little-owned pitcher dominates the defending World Series champions, fantasy owners tend to take notice. That's what happened with Andrew Heaney this week, as his ownership rate skyrocketed after he struck out 10 Astros in eight shutout innings. A former first-round pick, Heaney has had trouble staying both healthy and effective thus far in his career. Just a few weeks away from his 27th birthday, the lefty might finally be figuring things out. Through six starts in 2018, he's posted a 21.4 K-BB%. That mark ranks ahead of such luminaries as Clayton Kershaw, Corey Kluber, and Carlos Carrasco among others. Heaney's 3.93 ERA is less impressive, but nearly half of the 15 runs he's allowed this season came in a single start last month. He's allowed just five runs in his last four outings and will face the light-hitting Rays on Saturday.
Despite being one of the most popular waiver adds in the game this week, you can still find Heaney on the wire in roughly two out of every three leagues right now.
