BALLER MOVE: Start in All Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR2/Flex
ANALYSIS: Last year, Amari Cooper had the best season of his NFL career despite it being his 10th NFL campaign. He caught 72 passes for a career-high 1,250 yards and five scores. His earth-shattering 265-yard game in Week 16 propelled fantasy managers to wins in the fantasy playoff semifinals.
Heading into his third year in Cleveland, he draws a matchup with his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, to get the 2024 season started. Dallas did not bring back Stephon Gilmore this offseason, while Trevon Diggs (knee) could take time to settle in after suffering a torn ACL last year, and 2023 breakout Daron Bland (foot) will miss the Week 1 contest with a foot injury.
The Cowboys allowed the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers last year, but its secondary could struggle out of the gate.
Meanwhile, Cooper's target competition didn't get much tougher this offseason, as former Broncos pass-catcher Jerry Jeudy is the only notable addition on offense. With Deshaun Watson back to full health, Cooper should remain a target hog and has WR1 upside right away.
Cooper has always been a boom-or-bust fantasy asset, but managers did not draft him just to bench him in Week 1. Start him with confidence in all formats.
