Should I Start Amari Cooper For Fantasy Football?
UPDATE: Amari Cooper has been ruled out vs. New York. He should be removed from fantasy lineups before kickoff.
Cooper is the WR12 for the year, averaging 12.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The former Alabama star has 72 receptions for 1,250 receiving yards and five touchdowns this season. He is coming off a massive performance against the Houston Texans, totaling a franchise-record 265 receiving yards and 46 fantasy points. Cooper had some fun with Joe Flacco today to celebrate the win.
This week, he faces the Jets in an awful fantasy football matchup for the wide receiver. New York has surrendered only 17.4 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, the fewest in the NFL. Furthermore, they’ve given up only one receiving touchdown to wide receivers over the past four weeks.
Fantasy players should consider Cooper a midrange WR3 in Week 17.
Should I Start Garrett Wilson For Fantasy Football?
Wilson is the WR29 for the year, averaging 10.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The former Ohio State star has 88 receptions for 958 receiving yards and three touchdowns this season. He is coming off a strong performance against the Washington Commanders, scoring 11.3 fantasy points.
This week, he faces the Browns in a challenging fantasy football matchup for the wide receiver. Cleveland has surrendered 22.1 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, the third-fewest in the NFL. However, Wilson did have a massive performance against the Browns last season, totaling over 100 receiving yards in only his second NFL game.
Fantasy players should consider Wilson a low-end WR2 in Week 17.
Should I Start Elijah Moore For Fantasy Football?
Moore is the WR58 for the year, averaging 5.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The former Ole Miss star has 54 receptions for 579 receiving yards and a touchdown this season. While he has struggled with all the quarterbacks at quarterback, Moore faces his former team on Thursday in a revenge game for the young wide receiver.
This week, he faces the Jets in an unfriendly fantasy football matchup for the wide receiver. New York has surrendered only 11.8 fantasy points per game to wide receivers over the past month, giving up 11.1 or fewer in all but one contest.
With Amari Cooper ruled out for this game on Thursday afternoon, Moore gets an improved outlook as the primary receiving option along with David Njoku. Fantasy players should consider Moore a WR3/FLEX option in Week 17.
