ANALYSIS: Allen Lazard is a must-add in 12+ team leagues.
Allen Lazard recorded another touchdown in the Jets' Week 3 win over the New England Patriots. While the Jets’ passing offense is still ironing out some issues, the connection between Aaron Rodgers and Lazard remains strong.
After a quiet Week 2 with just two catches for 11 yards, Lazard bounced back with three receptions for 48 yards, including the game’s first touchdown, against the Patriots. The Jets have made a concerted effort to isolate Lazard in one-on-one situations, especially in the red zone, where his size and physicality give him a clear advantage over most defensive backs.

The one concern for Lazard is that his target share has decreased for three consecutive weeks. However, this is largely due to a negative game script in Week 3's win against the Patriots, as the Jets built an early lead and shifted to a run-first approach. Lazard’s role is most clearly defined as the team’s top red zone target, where he leads in targets. At 6-foot-5 and 227 pounds, he is a matchup nightmare for defenders.
In Week 4, the Jets face the Denver Broncos, where Garrett Wilson will likely be shadowed by Patrick Surtain, leaving Lazard with more favorable one-on-one matchups.
As the Jets' offense starts to find its rhythm, Lazard offers great touchdown upside and can be a boom-or-bust play capable of big performances in good matchups. Fantasy managers in deep PPR leagues should definitely consider putting in a claim for Lazard.
